The Role of Temperament in Internet marketing

What role does temperament play in Internet marketing? I presume all successful Internet marketers have very good temperament. In other words lack of sound temperament is not going to do any good to your efforts in Internet marketing. The more you wait the more you reap! This seems to be the mantra of IM. What do you think?

I agree delayed gratification is essential! However, I think that the best business practices are FAST and AGILE. Waiting around to see if something sticks is important, but I wouldn't recommend sticking with something just to stick with it! Recently I checked back on a software product that I put up for testing, I couldn't get any traction on it so I left it alone. Three months later I checked on it real fast before sending it to domain parking, and guess what? It was getting 20 hits a day, now that may not seem like a lot, but it was never optimized of worked on ever! I actually kind of had an uhhgg moment, knowing how much money I would be leaving on the table if I didn't get this piece of software created! lol

Yes I agree with you and your recent experience shows that too much of waiting is not advisable either. At the same time temperamental strength should not be lacking when it comes to IM. By the expression 'temperamental strength' I only mean 'temperamental waiting'.

Speed and being energetic is extremely important.
I guess this helps persevering despite the plethora of difficulties that we sometimes face.

Well, temperament is one's basic character, disposition or outlook, their very makeup. It encompasses their natural tendencies such as being happy all of the time or easy to anger or being pessimistic.

When you say "the more you wait the more you reap", you're talking specifically on patience and while patience or impatience can certainly be one's temperament, it doesn't cover all aspects of one's character.

I personally believe the more upbeat and even keeled a person is, the better off they'll be, especially in the customer service department of Internet marketing.

Yes MissTerrak you are right, I am very much convinced by your answer. Don't you think marketers also need sound temperament along with the service personnel?

          Absolutely yes!

I honestly only conduct business with those that are of sound temperament. It's extremely hard to trust someone who is known to fly off the handle or utilize dishonest measures in business like black hat methods, for example. Count me out of those tactics.

It is important to stay consistent but when you see some results from your efforts, it gives you the motivation to keep at it.

Persistence is KEY but you also want to see some results even if it is small.
