How much would it cost?

I am looking to start an ecommerce business.
I am looking to get support from score and perhaps some funding through Kickstarter.

So I need an idea as to costs for the following;

(not factoring in my states LLC costs, licensing fees etc.. Know them).

What would it cost for a decent website to be created that can support ecommerce.?.

A service that accept xml scripts,

A merchant provider to accept payments (or can I simply go with a freebie like ZenCart and Paypal/Google Checkout.

What is the approximate ballpark figure I would need to ask for these things?

    I'm thinking of starting an e-commerce site myself to sell some home decor products just as a side thing. As far as my site design I am simply going to use a wordpress theme from elegant themes which I have a membership for, or a themeforst theme, so not very expensive. I mean, I don't think you need tons of money to build this site, unless I am completely misunderstanding your post. The site design and setting up the shopping cart should be the least expensive thing right? I know that all my money at least will be spent on PPC and other online/offline marketing. However, I've also wondered about kickstarter for funding software development. How does that work exactly? Do you have to pay for a listing there?

    Yeah that's open-ended. You can almost spend as much or little as you want. You can get free or inexpensive wordpress ecommerce themes and/or plugins or use magento if you so choose, but more complicated ecommerce sites can get pricey.

    2checkout is a pretty nice payment gateway if you want to accept credit cards but still want to accept paypal

      As with all internet marketing services, the price for a ecommerce website varies. I'd say about $2.5k is about there.

      I've even seen a company offering a shopping cart website for as little as $30+ a month but you pay them extra for designing and basically you continue paying that $30+ for as long as you're running your business.

      Important thing is getting a person of team that's trustworthy and delivers what he/she promises. I'd think the price is secondary as long as you're not paying crazy amounts for it.
