I am either an idiot or I need serious help but this post is for those who are successful to comment. I am trying to get started and have around 50 websites but everything I try does not seem to work. I have spent a lot of money including buying a product from a Guru who wrote a book about making millions on the internet and went to a show in Sydney. I spent 3900k to get his help but one year down the line and the only one who made money was him. Please can anyone recommend a product or give me some advice on how to start generating an income. I do not want to make millions although it would be nice I would like to make around 1000k per month in the long term. P.S. I just bought GB's new product and have read all those posts it looks like I am the sucker or maybe luck will be on my side.

You need real mentor. Collecting products can't make you get money. Stick with one methods first.

First what you want to do is sit down and make a plan.
    where are you at
where do you wan to be at
what is it going to take to get it done/

STOP BUYING! right off the bat. a ton of info is available by just looking for it. a great site I use for different things is http://factbites.com
Then you want to focus on one thing and one thing only. building a targeted email list. everything in this business requires leverage and the better your list is the better leverage you have.
This is useful for a number of ways but that is what you will want to do first. build a list. then after you build your list you can further flesh out your plan and start profiting. don't look for others to help you. there is a law of recirpriocity in this business. one of the best ways to build your list is to buy solo ads but a free way is to use jv giveaways not my recommendation but it is a free way you can do it as traffic is provided to the sites and you have an easier time.

Build your list drive traffic from any possible way you can think of offline and on and send it to your squeeze page. you then have a way you can make money either through affiliae marketing, product creation which you send to your list, jv partners etc. Build your list get up to at least 2-3k on your list and you will do ok.
trust me after 5 yrs I focused on so many other things and it all comes down to the list.
hope you do well in your endeavor

Find a method appealing to you and stick with it, tweak it and make it yours. Don't jump around much or you'll feel stuck.

No guru can teach you anything as useful as spending hours upon hours on the grindstone working your craft and figuring out what's real and what's false for yourself. That's how you find out what works the best.

Quit throwing your money away and get to work.

The secret is that there is no secret. Work hard (17+ hours a day) if you really want it and you will get what you want because things will naturally fall into place. You have to want it bad enough and be discontented enough to do whatever it takes.

Above all, get to work NOW. Tomorrow never comes, and sleep is for the common man. Rise above the average man.

Consider doing most of the things yourself, and buying just what you want. I buy the necessary software that will make me achieve specific tasks while I do most of the work my own way. The tools that I use include those that enhance my search for keywords, while I search the keywords myself. I add my own content. If I need a specific task done, I'll do a thorough analysis before buying any product.

I hope this helps, though it sounds like I am talking about myself. Consider it, and save on money, without buying products to make things work for you.

Yes. Stop jumping around on different topics and ideas. Sit down, make a plan ideally with someone to guide you if possible and then stick to that plan.

Limit the amount of time you spend on sites like WF because although you can learn here and pickup lots of tips it can also be a time sink which just eats away at your free time before you realize it has even happened.

    • Assuming you're ready to invest in anything as you've already covered the four fundamentals of your financial portfolio, which I explained in detail in this thread, then you can read on and study the things below:

What are your specialized skills, knowledge and expertise? In which specialized industries and subject areas? In which niches, exactly?

In these niches, do you intend to operate in B2B (business to business) markets, or B2C (business to consumer) markets?

If you want to target B2B markets, then these are the things your prospect clients need (of course, your target prospect clients should have "reputable" brand names and "good" products or service offers, with the "s being there to point out that these are seemingly subjective terms which can be objectified when you strike a balance between your standards and general standards):

      1. Wider exposure in their target markets for their brand and products or service offers...
      2. Better conversions and sales...
      3. Cost-effective advertising and marketing campaigns...

What do they need for number 1? Offsite content marketing, mainly. For number 2? Better onsite content, mainly. For number 3? Affiliates with significant experience and specialized knowledge in, well, their products/service offers and in operating affiliate businesses. Can you help them? With what and how, exactly?

If you want to target B2C markets, then these are what your prospect customers need:

      1. Free and paid solutions for their relevant problems and needs that they can neither solve nor satisfy on their own.

What they need for number 1 is obvious: "Good" and "effective" solutions. Can you help them? With what and how, exactly? Then, at this point, your needs turn into the needs of prospect clients as described earlier (under B2B, numbers 1 to 3). Can you help yourself? With what and how, exactly?

Igizmo, from my experience 1. mindset 2. focus on specific area. 3. dont give up.

In my experience a coach would be a fantastic move. Choose wisely in an area suited to you. If you have 50 websites then this is a wonderful resource to monetise. You may need to dump some and focus on a few. Get someone who knows, and is willing to help without a vested interest.

Mate, I think it's great living "down under", Sydney is a great city!

Let me give you some advice...

1.mentors are often making money because they are mentors... it's like teachers selling their knowledge - that in fact is part of their business
2.what might work for a mentor might not work for you
3.first build sites about something you like - don't aim at "becoming rich", but rather create resources useful to others, try becoming liked and popular... money will follow afterwards!
4.it's not spending lots of money that will help you make lots of money, but rather: saving money and spending little - but effectively, having original ideas, creating effective business strategies, doing something you like and know much about - you can be a mentor to someone else in something and get paid, what do you think?
5.50 sites is a lot for a single person... let's say (an example) focus on 2-3 main sites, maybe 5, potentially maintain 10-20 in the background, but it you manage too many (e.g. 50 sites), then you spread you attention, waste time and energy, waste money... you are making it hard... it's like having 50 cars and not being able to drive a single one well, because you have no driver's license
6.stick around on forums and discuss with others more, more than just buying all sorts of products
7.gain experience and be up to date with the latest trends: takes years, but you develop yourself... reading or listening to mentors' products for a few hours won't make you generate profits - there's nothing more powerful than experience!

Don't give up, just change your approach to making money... it's pretty much like building any successful business, even a shop...

    Good luck mate!

Thank you to everyone for your replies. I had thought after paying the large amount I had a mentor but he seemed to be a disappointment. I shall look for a mentor does anyone know of a good mentor that does not want money.

Good mentors charge. Unless you can find one on a personal basis. I think Tony Robbins charges over $100k per year for his platinum group, but people still join because they believe they will get this value and more back. There are some very good comments in these posts. Remember it's about business. Many people I speak to in business will admit (privately) that they have had failed business investments - many people adopt a portfolio approach to business, recognizing that some aspects of their business will perform better than others - but they keep on going - focusing on what does work and building on that. It's not easy!

      • Again, I suggest knowing your targets, which I mentioned in my previous post above, because what works in B2C markets may be irrelevant in B2B markets. To drive a point, based on my experience from what I've been doing with my company:

        1. In B2C markets, we formulate and implement mailing list building campaigns for our clients in our departments, and our clients are targeting B2C markets. They in fact need to build B2C mailing lists, because this promotes repeat business for them...

        2. We don't build mailing lists of prospects and customers in our "corporate client department", because we cold contact them, tell them about a business proposal we formulated for them, then present that proposal to them to sign them up. And, our corporate clients have long term contracts with us, and that combined, as of this writing, requires 80% of our manpower base, which is equivalent to 160++ employees, individual subcontractors and subcontractor group partners of ours combined, so we just handle not more than a dozen at a time, and we add "bluechip" clients only after we significantly grow our manpower base by 50%. We have account executives and their assistants to provide real time communications to the executives and assistants of our corporate clients. Our account executives and their assistants handle our accounts in this department, with one account executive and his or her assistant handling one corporate client at a time, for the duration of the contract. Our corporate clients, when they renew their contracts, request for the same account executives and their assistants to handle their accounts, most of the time...

        3. Neither do we build mailing lists in our "non-corporate client department" to get prospects and customers. Again, we cold contact them as well as implement direct advertising and marketing campaigns. And, our executive managers (and their assistants) handle real time communications between our non-corporate clients in this department of ours, at one executive manager and assistant per five to ten non-corporate clients (depending on the "size" of the contract, with "size" referring to required manpower resources)...

        4. We don't build mailing lists in our "per batch order department" to get prospects and buyers. Instead, we implement direct advertising and marketing campaigns, in which these marketing campaigns for this department are mostly referrals of our corporate and non-corporate clients, i.e. Their colleagues, associates, friends and family. And, our per-order customers in this department are handled by our administrative assistants, with one admin assistant of ours handling real time communications between a maximum of 60 per-order customers per week. Yes, our WSO here falls under this department of ours...

        5. For my personal blog, yes, I have a mailing list with my colleagues, associates, corporate and non-corporate clients, employees, individual subcontractors, subcontractor group partners, friends, relatives and blog readers, though I made this mailing list available to them so they can read what I write, in case it interests them and nothing else -- Yes, I don't promote anything to this mailing list...

At the OP, you can study relevant things about operating in B2B markets and the advantages this could bring over targeting B2C markets, and you can focus on these B2B markets if you decide that it's worth your while. With what you mentioned about $1000/month being enough for starters (for you), I believe you'd most likely be able to earn that with one non-corporate client. Just think of ways to help them with their problems and needs (which I explained in general terms in my previous post), then formulate an offer that they couldn't possibly resist, present that offer to them, sign them up, and deliver the targets outlined in your proposal and contract. At this point, you'll be growing and expanding your business in say two to three months time, with the right long term business plan along with growth and expansion attachment plans, of course. Here's a video documentary of what I went through to do this, which was developed by the Asia Pacific Development Center on Disability of the United Nations (they give this away in conferences and seminars or workshops about ICT, inclusive business and gainful employment and business opportunities for people with disabilities) and was uploaded by a good friend, Thomas Ng, owner of Genashtim and former Asia Pacific CEO (for more than 25 years) of Asea Brown Boveri, the world's biggest power engineering firm:

    Igizmo,

I have mentioned this many times on warrior the best way to start making any money is to get a squeeze page up and running and capture subscribers to your offer, once you do that you can build a list of potential customers. Then you can make offers to them at will really an example of a squeeze page is below.

A mentor is important, yeah but what you really need is a good plan.

How can you start dieting without checking the scale first, right?

    What are you good at?

How much time can you invest as you start? You need this to do market research.

Find your perfect opportunity by joining in forums like this to learn new things.

Find what people need and build your business around it. That would likely allow you to find you customers faster.

You touch their "pain" and offer your "help."

No easy way around it pal.But keep your passion burning.

Too much information on the web can truly lead to info-overload. I would suggest you do a thorough research on what system would work best for you and will get you more income. Then focus more on that kind of money-making system.

first of all you need to know what you are good at (except spending money ) and what are your interests.Than you start off a site and stick to it.its a myth that you can make millions having several sites by putting ad sense on them. You need to put your sweat and blood on each of these, which is not only expensive but would probably cost you your health Take one or 2 websites, put top notch related content on them and on regular basis, try getting backlinks from high PR sites, once you start getting traffic instead of going for adsense go for buysellads.com and put ads from advertisers for as low as 30$ to as high as 400$
