Urgent Help Needed: Reconciling Banner Requirements

Hello.
I need your advice.
I have two advertising partners.

One has already booked the placement of the leaderboard banner on all pages of the website for 3 months. The pay shoudl arrive soon.

Another is an agency which wants to run a leaderboard and a box in the next month.

I can easily place two leaderboard banners on each page - one above the content - to the right of the logo and the other after the first paragraph of the content. I wonder if this wont piss off either of the advertisers? Can it be cosnidered OK for me to place TWO leaderboard banners on one page?

Thanks!!

Thank you for the prompt reply...the first company said it is in the process of sending the WIRE...the second one just wants to book leaderboard and a box for November.....do you think it will be ok if I place two leaderboards on all pages - above the fold?

one more question- what do you consider the prime placement? the one next to logo or the one after teh first paragraph?

      thanks a lot1

Sending a wire? Have they never heard of PayPal? Like I said, I always do first come, first served, unless they're long-standing clients. If they've paid for adspace for the past 6-12 months, then they get preferential treatment; otherwise, money talks. That's a lesson I learned the hard way many years ago.

thanks that makes sense...the first ones are in the process of paying for 3 months....so I think they shoudl get a better placement...

Yes, it's all right to do that. But you have to be sure about what you tell or promise your advertisers. If you tell them they'll have the prime spot and charge them accordingly, then you really should not change what you do, or promise.

one more question- what do you consider the prime placement? the one next to logo or the one after teh first paragraph?
Next to the logo. Generally, the higher up is the most prominent and most valuable. Not so sure I'd do after the first paragraph, but that's me. It may turn off some of your readers especially if they are loyal and used to content withoout ads in them.

Also, if you're ranking in Google, then the sudden appearance of multiple ads above the fold could cause repercussions in their next update. Or, whatever the frequency is for these things.

As far as the IO, just Google it. I'm sure you'll find something. And since you're new to this, I would draft all the particulars about the terms of the agreement including "exactly" what you will do, where, how long, pricing, etc.

Generally, you will want to charge more for placement higher up on a page. And you'll charge more or less depending on which page the ads appears. Homepage is always premium space. So even ads below the fold or anywhere else on the home page will cost more than internal pages.

I have not done this, but I have arranged these things for others. I've talked to offline papers, etc, to make these arrangements for advertising. Offline papers that have an online presence.

If you have some internal pages that get more traffic than others, and that's usually the case, then you'll charge more for those pages. But not as much as for the home page.

Thank you for your replies…. I am new to advertising on a website – I was wondering if you can direct me to a agreement template for website banner advertisement? Or is it properly called Insertion Order? I need a standard document where I can document the terms and conditions for both the parties….any help with this highly appreciated!
