Tax return from irs for amazon kindle authors living outside of USA

I really hope someone can help me with this situation.

I have self-published several books on amazon and are fairly successful. So much even that I now make my living off of my books.

I currently reside in Denmark so I had to submit a W-8BEN to amazon to make sure I wasn't paying taxes both in USA and Denmark.

The only problem is that the
W-8BEN was not in the hands of amazon before I received my payment for the month of book sales. So payment for that month was cut by 30%. I have tried contacting amazon to get that cut back but all they informed me was that I needed to file for a tax return with the irs.

I have used several hours on irs.gov trying to figure out have to file for a proper tax return. I have simply not been able to figure out how to go about it as a non-us citizen earning money in America under a tax treaty.

I was hoping other kindle authors from other parts of the word than USA would have this knowledge.

Thanks..

May be the only choice is giving tax returns details to amazon.
