Same About Page on Different EMD's I Plan To Sell - Is this a Duplicate Content Issue?

I've built and ranked one Exact Match Domain (EMD) website, and now I plan to duplicate the process for many other domains I own so that once ranked I can sell these sites to a local business owner.

I plan on making the 'About' page identical on each of these EMD sites! The about page gives interested parties information NOT about the site/sudo business, but in fact about me/the site designer/owner... which essentially says I'm an internet marketer, and if your interested in buying this site in order to promote your business call me.

So my question is will Google hit me for this...for suplicating a page across sites I own???

Other info:
  1. These sites are all hosted on my shared hosting account
  2. I have 20 to build in different industries
  3. The page typically has 1 image and approx 250 words
  4. These about pages will change once purchased
  5. I'm c
onsidering making these 'about' pages Noindex-nofollow

Many thanks if you can help or think you have the answer

What about making one about page and linking to that one with all the other sites?

You get backlinks for that website (nothing great but we're not throwing away anything) plus there is only one about page, google should'nt notice, just make sure to differentiate the anchors.

This maybe a solution, good luck with your project!

    Edit: grammar.

      Thanks Black Monolith... great solution.

By your answer I gather that indeed this is potentially a duplicate content issue???

Theses EMD sites cover varied services based business niches... so not sure about linking from different industry sites to an about page of another service industry site and potentially confuse my prospect.

My logic is that my prospect (business owner and competitor to my EMD site), will click the 'about' page IF there is one... as he/she won't recognize the business/site and will want to investigate! I also thought that having the about page builds out the site a little so it's not a thin site (good/bad I don't know)?

But If I understand you correctly, I could link the 'About' button on the primary navigation to a page on my own personal site!? Right?

And what about the privacy policy I'd intended to create a separate page for on each of these sites? Is this a duplicate content issue also if using the same content here as well?

...Finally will the noindex/nofollow option be a solution if create the same content/pages on these different EMD sites I own?

      Thanks again

Pages rank, sites don't. So what if the about page doesn't rank? Make it no follow or leave it as is and just do not seo it. As long as you are not trying to openly manipulate the engine it will not matter.

      Thanks Troy,

The page ranking is not an issue at all! ... I have no plan to do SEO or get the 'about' page ranked etc...

I just want to be able to use the SAME text/content on an about page for each of these different sites without fear of Google hitting me due to the content of one about page being identical to another about page on a different site I own...the whole Duplicate Content issue!

I think Black Monoliths solution is great... I also think that what you say would probably prove accurate as well, so long as I configure the page as nofollow as suggested... just need a little certainty here :-D

So you believe just use nofollow on the page and things will be right in the world? I want to use the same Privacy page on all these EMD sites as well so I guess this same solution should apply here also...right?

      Thanks

I know if you use no follow they can still crawl but usually won't. I also know if you do not seo, as in tags and stuff, they really have nothing to crawl.

While black gives an option I would worry about having these links disappear to my site when the new owners change them. There is definitely a footprint there.
