Can i Trust this Offline Dataentry work that Advertised in my City

Well today morning i found an advertisement in our local newspaper about offline dataentry work..

Immediatly i called them and asked about the work details.. They simply invited me to attend the demo..

What they are saying is..they are working for a russian library which currently had the huge project of converting their scanned image books that has to convert into word files(also called Image to Doc conversion)...

They also said about..capcha entry work, data mining work, word to excel projects, online data entry

well i asked for offline dataentry details...They asked me to pay $200 for one time registration fee.. And after that they will assign work of converting 350 image files to doc files.. And then they will pay me around $300 after completion of every task...@90% accuracy...and the agreement is upto one year...

It sounds me good..so i thought, I will get $300 every month decent income.. If i work with softwares such as omni or abby finereader the work wil complete faster..and i can earn more money.... Right..

But in other side i have some doubts:-/
1. Are they scam or genune?
2. They have physical contact address... So i can contact them for refund...but they are saying i have to pay non refundable fee
3. How they are getting these offline projects..i can't found these opportunities anywhere on the internet.... I know they dont get this works from sites like freelancers or other similar sites
4. Would they really pay? Iam in dilemma right now!

Any scam alerts please....

First thing to note is especially if you are a beginner, dont pay to earn. I dont understand why you need to pay them $200 upfront. They can pay you for whatever you have done. But you dont need to pay them for working for them.

Better you invest your money on something better.

The moment you said they require a "registration fee" alarm bells went off.

No reputable employer asks for money up front. Ask them if you can speak to people who are already working for them. If they say "No" just walk away.

It sounds a bit like the modelling agency scam which used to be very prevalent. They would ask prospective models to pay for a "portfolio" up front and then the model would hear nothing else from that "agency"
