Networking 2 PCs + HD

Is it possible (and fairly easy) to network two PCs, so that each can access the files and use programs on the other?

And, can two PCs be set up to be connected to the same extrenal hard drive at the same time, and not have to swap the USB connection each time?

Yes - it is fairly simple and easy to network 2 pcs so that both can access each other's files and folders ( if they have given shared access to each other ) by connecting with cable with RJ 45 connector. Thats what you call (peer to peer) networking.

Yes external drive can be setup on one computer and that can be accessible to other computer as well by giving Shared access.

I have 3 networked myself, have had for some time. Just need a router, most all of them give up to 4 connections. I don't know what OS your using, but XP is very easy to network, does most of the work for you, sure easier than it use to be!

As for an extra drive, you could have it connected to one pc and "share" it with the rest of the network. You can do the same with all hard rrives on all the pcs on the network, share what you want, even just directories.

    Does this help?
