I'm writing a health ebook. An "expert" said that it is worrying, that there are no ebooks for this health problem. Am on the right track, or not?

As long as you are very knowledgeable on the subject and that there is a demand for people to read that particular ebook, yes you should be on the right track

If you mean when the doctor or specialist tells you that you only have 24 hours to live . . . then I'm not surprised there's no e-books for that particular health problem

It could be good news or it could be bad news.

    After all, think about it...

Someone in a subject area with successful e-books had
to attempt to write the first e-book at some point.

It may be that you write the first e-book in the area
and it takes off and is a success.

Or, you write the first e-book in the area and it bombs.
So, you either tweak your approach until it succeeds
or you drop it completely for a new project idea.

There's more risk being first, as there's no immediate
evidence of a pool of proven buyers. But, there's
also the potential for high rewards too.

If there are already lots of e-books in the area then
you at least know that people are buying them and
you just need to get your e-book out there too.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

    Shaun

      Exactly.

      Two suggestions :
->Try to present the most objective and coherent information, explain the why of each principle, rule, technique.
->Prefer a complementary approach rather than a "the best solution in the world' approach

Well think about it hard and deep... there are many smart marketers out there who target the health niche, have they missed something or ignored it on purpose?

Go to Amazon and see if there are any REAL books on your subject. If there aren't, chances are the niche may be too small or doesn't exist. The big publishers do not publish a title, which they think will fail.

Without the specifics, none of us can be too helpful Dee.

Well, i make money from micro niches, but, it's really depends...
If there is very few information about it, so maybe you will have a really small market.

Is there a demand in the market for your ebook? Have you done your market research? There might be a reason why there's no ebooks written for this particular problem. I would err on the side of caution though and make sure your research has been done before doing any work on the project.

What niche within the "health" market are you targeting? Selling an ebook on "health" is like advertising your "dog training tips" in the NY Times. Find a deeper niche.

Forget the so called experts... the only way to truly know if it is good or bad is to just get on with and test the market. The market direct feedback is what really have to pay attention to.

Even if your ebook will bomb and won't sell a single copy you can always dig deeper into the market by giving it away for free in exchange for their email address so you can build a targeted list and then follow up with more specific content and surveys (while split testing your messages and gather more data for your business).

If they won't pay for it maybe they'll take it for free giving you the chance to communicate with them and show them your expertise. Simply ask them what kind of solution they need and then see if you can deliver it.

The only way to know is to try.

I have written a LOT of material on health and I find it hard to believe thee is no info. If you can't find any through Google searching, then create your own if you can get enough info but surely there must be some info online or it may not be a genuine health problem.
