Hi

OK, to come clean I have a bit of an ulterior motive in posting this. Neverthess, I would like to know how other warriors feel about it:
You order a Guru-course and get video upon video. I usually don't have a clue anymore when I come to video number thirty. Does anybody else have a problem learning effectively through videos? What do you prefer: eBooks or videos?
#course or book #learning #video

If the videos come with a workbook, then you cannot get lost

I find this a little tedious as well. Some courses have a large number of very short videos. In general, I prefer eBooks but in some cases videos can help make certain points clearer. However, I think some courses include lots of videos mainly to impress you with the amount of content.

I prefer ebooks, you can understand the information and process it at your convenience. Also, you can print out hard copies and read it whenever.

eBooks are WAY better... videos simply suck if they're alone. Both are best IMHO.

A mix of the two are best, my problem with some WSO's I have purchased recently is that the videos seem to be have made on the fly, terrible audio, the presenter ars#ng about trying to find something or getting something to work that won't work properly and not bothering to pause the video. Also videos that go on for over 30mins with 20 mins of that somebody rambling on and digressing from the point.
So professional videos with pdfs is what I like.

I believe giving your clients choices is never a bad thing.

That being said, I will always love the printed word as I can go back and re-read whatever wasn't clear to me or re-read it to ingrain it in my memory.

As far as videos go, I absolutely love the animated ones as they help me at times to be able to remember the content by visualizing the picture/animation and bring back the ideas associated with it.

I also like videos in addition to the written content if the content is on learning something technical as I'm rather handicapped in that area. It's just not my forte. Teach me the method/s with your written instructions and also talk me through it and walk me through it with the audio and visuals in a how to video and I'll admire you forever. lol!

That brings up another format I love and that is an audio version to an e-book, pdf report etc. I love listening when I'm on the road or just tired of being at the computer, like when I'm taking a break from my online endeavors.

Options are wonderful and I believe add more value to your product.

    Hi again
Ok, thanks some great replies here, but I am still not too sure. What I want to do is this: Some years ago I wrote a offline desktop computer program for a school. I have now taken a small part of that program and adapted it to hopefully make a WSO out of it. What it does is to give the student the opportunity to interact with the study material by setting their own tests etc. Maybe it would be of value in studying IM. If anyone is intersted to download it, play with it a little and give input, please PM me.
    Thanks
