Best Optin Form Position?

Hello, i am unsure where to put my optin form to convert best

I have the following options:

- above the content
- below the content
- both of the above
- sidebar

Also i must decide whether to have a sidebar or a full width blog because in my case full width looks more cooler.

Thanks

    Hey Xellero,

The sidebar works well for me and also have a lightbox pop up.

However, it's best that you test various positions and see how it affects your opt-in rate. After all, it won't cost you anything and the tests can be conducted pretty quickly.

    All the best

Pop-ups work really well. Then there are the ones right on the top and there are footers that work just as great too. I've seen websites where they are just everywhere, header, footer, sidebar, pop ups.. you name it. It all comes down to testing IMO.

Both of the above... have a hover ad appear on the page also to collect the opt-in. You can create one in Aweber. Will boost response.

I think by going full width maybe something in the content would work better but for me I use fixed width and place it at the top of the right sidebar

Sidebar worked nicely for me as well. You could try to take away the name field since MOST people don't like giving their names away. That worked for me, do some tests and see what works best for you.

Most important thing is to place it above the fold so the prospect sees it immediately, you can split test the rest to find the best position.

I personally think the 3rd image (siderbar) appeals to me more.

Also i think popup optins are quite annoying for the user.

Sidebars in my opinion make sites look so much better and easier to navigate otherwise everything will be squeezed into the nav bar

I put my opt in box in the side bar at the top

Don`t expect great result though using opt in boxes in your side on your blogs

I also sprinkle my squeeze page url around my site in text links and also in my nav bar.
