In my own opinion, the best way to get free traffic is by engaging yourself in social media sites. Just post your products and services in social site such as Facebook and slowly grow your network of like and subscribers to your products and services.

It may take long before you can become an authority. However, the wait is worth the results as satisfied customers will tend to refer your products and services.

I got to say twitter and Facebook are great sources of free traffic, also a great starting point, but beware don't over do it, nothing more annoying than someone pushing 15 articles a day on facebook, what ever you share make sure it is relervent and interesting, if your bored writing about it, most likely people going to be bored reading it.

I think three of the best methods for you starting off include article marketing, blog posting, and social media marketing.

Article marketing- write some articles on your topic of interest. They don't have to be really lengthy (even 400-word articles will do)- just make they are pertinent to your topic and provide either unique information and/or present information from a unique perspective. Then include a signature file (a 4- to 5-line bio) at the end of the article with a link back to your site (which can be hosted on your own website host server or even a free blog site such as Blogger, Tumblr, Squidoo, etc.).

You then submit your article to popular article directories like EzineArticles.com (find others via a Google search for "article marketing directories." One of the best ways to get free Traffic is to swap list with someone is your same niche.

Find out if they have a good quality product if so - email them asking if they would like to swap list. If they say yes, You will then tell your list about this person, while they tell their list about you.

Having to regularly update your content is a myth! There are sites that are ranking online and haven't had any new content added to them in years.

I've had the most success with Facebook for free traffic.

For me personally it has to be FaceBook!

I have to only spend around 30 minutes a day there using some simple but highly effective traffic strategies.

Then you can tap into the sheer high amounts of numbers that hang out there.

Look for Fan Pages that are closely linked to your niche and filter that traffic back to your Fan Page.

Once people are at your page, try to encourage them to join your list by leaving links to your squeeze pages below your main page image.

Also update them with new blog posts by linking back to your blog on a daily basis.

There is no such thing as "free traffic".

No matter what you do (SEO, article marketing, social media etc) it costs you time, which in my opinion is more expensive than money, since the longer something takes, the less money you'll make.

Plus, SEO isn't free anyway (despite the fact most people here will say it is), because for decent rankings for decent keywords, you'll need to invest in software, backlinks etc.

Paid traffic (solo ads, media buys, CPA traffic etc) brings in results faster, and as long as you have a decent product and back end, it's easy to make a consistent profit.

By the way, most so-called "free traffic" is actually a lot more unreliable than paid traffic. SEO, article marketing etc relies on Google rankings, which change almost daily. I don't know about you, but I can't see the point in wasting all that time with no guaranteed results, or no guarantee that the results will be consistent.

The best source of free traffic IMO is youtube. Youtube traffic converts like gangbusters compared to other forms like facebook, twitter and other social media sites. Video is the future of the internet. Blog commenting, forum posting and such can only go but so far.

Use SEO, free and easiest way of driving web traffics. Use that from blog commenting, forum posting, social media and even email marketing.

If you want free traffic, it's all about SEO and social media sites.

Also video works wonders if you have some charisma.

Now of course, list building helps too, but I mostly build lists with paid traffic. So, it's free once you have it, but you need to get it first.

Easy way to drive traffic is commenting on blogs, posting on forums and using social media. A bit harder is writing articles and submitting them to article directories.

Everyone is giving great advise here, but maybe let me sum it up and make it simple: wherever there is someone lurking online who has a more than ordinary interest/need in your product/service, and who has a ready link to your site for more info, etc., there is your good free traffic. Videos, social media, articles, forums, etc. Mind you, this is not the mythical firehose of traffic, but it is a start.

craigslist can be beneficial if done correctly.Just got to know how to post correctly so you dont get ghosted or flagged..

Facebook and blogging is good but IMHO a good JV is worth it's weight in gold.

1. Buy a couple of non competing products in your niche.
2. If you like the product, send them an email saying that you really like their product.
3. If you like the product, and if you get a chance to talk to the creator of the product, then do so (this includes paying for a coaching call if necessary)
4. If you like the way the call goes and the way they do business, and if you think they are a fit then:
5. Create a rockin free report that actually gives away really good content that solves a problem that the product creator's customers need solved.
6. Ask the product owner if they're happy to send your report to their list - don't sweat it about squeeze pages, just brand the crap out of your report.
7. If you don't have a ripping product, create one.
8. Ask if the non competing product owner is willing to JV with you, and to build your list, give them the lion's share of the profits.
9. If not, keep creating awesome reports that they'll send to their list.

All in all, IMO this is a much more effective way than blogging, Facebook, commenting etc as you're getting access to a targeted niche list and you're not competing with the list owner, and to boot you've made a contact, and hopefully friend, in the industry!
