Four Methods To Increase Facebook Followers That I Am Using

1. Create A Caption Contest

The first thing that you need to do here is to find an image that will automatically create some kind of emotion within your reader. This may be an image which contains something exciting, funny, unusual etc. Then, ask your readers to submit a caption for such an image. The amount of responses and the creativitiy of some of them will be quite surprising to say the least.

2. Get Readers To "Agree/Disagree" With You

We have all seen it. For example, you would have an image which states "I Am Against Animal Circus. Hit Share If You Are Too!"

When people see something that they agree, they won't think twice before pressing the like and the share button. This is a great thing to have, especially since an on topic picture will continue to build the relationship that you have with your readers.

3. The Borrowed Trust Method

Everyone knows the power of the share button on Facebook. A lot of competitions are based on it, and people can compete by simply sharing an image or post. You can create something similar if you want to promote another page or yours, or even be able to send traffic to another person's page. You can take the post that say, you have created on another page and share it on the original page. That way, people will see "[You] shared [Your Other Page]'s photo/post".

This will compel people to check out the other page if the post/photo is interesting and on topic, giving you free advertising in the process.

4. The Like Button Method

This one is a bit too iffy for my tastes, but I included it just for the simple reason that some people seem to be able to have success with it. As you might know you can use Facebook as yourself or as the administrator of any page that you are currently leading.

For this method, find another page on Facebook that is relevant to your page, and make sure that you are using your Facebook as the administrator of your page, and not as yourself (person). Then find different posts and picture on the other relevant page, and start hitting the Like button on the replies that the said post/picture has gotten.

When you click the like button, the people who have submitted the original comment will get notified that [your page] has liked their comment, and some of them will check out your page, with a percentage of these people ending up liking your page.

Hope you enjoy these methods and put them to good use!

No worries Jim, in a lot of ways, the two are similar to each other. Thanks for the input.

I havent seen any significant effect of Like, especially for external links, though I read a lot of people speaking of "Likes". Share has been a much better method for links.Engaging is vital - like involving visitors by providing them choices in what they would like to see or read.Caption Suggest is a good example of that.

I agree regarding the share being a better than like. However, you still get mentioned in the sidebar when someone likes something of yours, so I think it's still a good idea to give it a shot when possible.

    4. The Like Button Method
I tried this fourth (4th) method for 2 consecutive days but I gathered 2 to 3 new likes only. I guess I need consistency in doing it. What you think?
I also read the same strategy being talked about on another thread. Some have had success stories (most) so I really think consistency is the key.

Since we provide content writing services, almost all niches with FB fan pages are applicable on us. That's the good side of this service, I think.

Great tips Kevin. I use each of these regularly and they definitely work... Its still iffy on the #4 one too :-)

If you want to boost this Facebook by about 10 times, combine these tips into single strategies....

Example: Convince a fan page owner to share your caption contest on their heavily viewed fan page. (Convincing is much easier with $5-$15).

    Hi Kevin great post!

I do have to agree that the SHARE feature does work better for spreading your messages etc on FaceBook.

FaceBook have a scoring system as you probably already know!

Some have named it the "Pyramid Of Power"!

With SHARES at #1, COMMENTS at #2 & LIKES at #3.

If you can develop a system and momentum with your daily marketing plan that allows you to attract people from similar pages back to yours and encourage them to share your posts etc then FaceBook will reward for keeping them at F/B for longer.

After all they want people to stay at FaceBook for as long as possible so that is why they reward you by placing your next posts etc at the top of that persons news feed wall the next time you post something.

I personally love the simplicity of FaceBook and the way you tap into and begin to understand the way it really works.

I wouldn't say you will completely understand it after 2 weeks.

You have to spend at least 30 minutes a day for a few weeks or even months first to get a real feel for how things work there.

I am seeing my traffic grow every day steadily from there and it gets me some decent sign ups to my email list.

Hope this helps anyone and all the best!!!

I've read about that before, however your post does a great job of explaining it! As you say, it makes a lot of sense for FB to want to keep people on, which is the same thing that we all do with trying to retain people on our site for the longest time possible.
