What Information is Important When Buying a Website

Ok so i have an idea to sell some of my websites and domain names, via my own website. The thing is i'm not sure what information i should provide about the domain/website to the customer.

Obviously page rank and visitor/profit information is a must. But is there anything else i should be providing? I want to have as much info on the sites as possible really.

Any input is appreciated

Along with the PR and analytics, if I want to buy a website I will look for its age , its ranking for keywords in search engines , and mostly importantly revenues generated and potential of the website.

What's important to me as a buyer of web based businesses is the longevity of the business.

Here's some of the questions I need answered to make a buying decision:

    1) How is the website generating its revenue?
    2) Are the revenues sustainable?
    3) Is there room to grow the revenues?
    4) What are the sources of website traffic?
    5) Are there any possible weaknesses in the sources of web traffic?
    6) Are there other sources of traffic that aren't being optimised?
    7) What marketing strategies didn't work for the seller?
    8) Can the website be effectively marketed OFFLINE?
    9) Will I be able to sell the website easily, after building it up?
    10) How much resources will I need to invest, to fully exploit the websites potential?

Hope that helps you to draft your sales copy.

    Good luck

      Want to buy a website?

You can go a couple of ways in your strategy. As mentioned, you can target the sensible business minded looking at entities that have a strong market with potential of regular growth.
      OR
You can target the greedy by building traffic numbers and paying for ads to generate quick revenue, perhaps even at a loss, in order to quickly bring up the selling power of the website to people that look for high numbers and gross income.

      my 2 cents worth

Well, the PR of the website, the content on the website (make sure it is original and high quality) - I guess if you are a writer you could redo this but you wouldn't have to if it was already good. Look at the analytics of the site. Good luck.

If I were to buy a site I would want to know EVERYTHING about the site. One of the most important things would be revenue, how much time is being put in to make that revenue. Is the revenue increasing or decreasing.

I would check out flippa.com and look at the most active listings and what those people request to see. Those are buyers asking buyers questions with experience buying. Everything you need IMO. Good luck!

If you are not sure about the information you should provide, maybe you should ask help for someone who has successfully done it before. This way, you will certainly make a good job and you will also gain some experience for the future.
