Default How I Made Over $3000 This Month Writing and Editing

I don't mean to be bragging and in some ways, I feel like this is too much of a J-O-B, so I shouldn't really post about it here.

But we all need money to live and I know that there are a lot of people struggling to make it as a writer, so...

Basically, I have one company that I primarily write content for. It's called Writer's Research Group and I've had a positive experience with them. There are other companies like this out there, such as Demand Studios. The good thing about it is that work can expand or contract as I need it to. If I have a lot of work from other clients, I don't have to write as much for them. But if I need work, I can. This is why it's more like a job than really being a freelancer.

With this company, I get paid $10-30 for writing articles and $8-20 for editing. Occasionally, they'd be in a bind and would offer special deals, like double for an article or something.

Anyway, I decided at the beginning of the month that I was going to make a big push to make a lot of money. I wanted to make enough that we could put our usual $1000 into savings, but also enough to fund a trip home to NY to surprise my mom for her birthday.

I also put the word out to some of the project managers there that I was looking for extra work, which meant that when there was something they couldn't do, they'd throw it my way.

Anyway, the good thing about working for one company like this is that they pay pretty good. And I didn't have to spend any time trying to get more clients.

I know a lot of writers take less than $10 for an article, but these types of companies may be a better source of income for you. Yes, it seems more like a job than when you're really freelancing, but when you gotta pay the bills, you gotta pay the bills...

The kinda good thing about this is that I have a 4 month old baby and a 30 year old baby (oh...husband ) that I have to take care of. This means that others may be able to make even more if they were really motivated.

The downside was that I didn't have much time left to work on any personal projects. That angle really suffered.

In April, I might try to get a different sort of balance going, so that I'll be able to focus on my own writing as well as "working for cash".

But I just wanted to write about this to let people know about the options out there. I apologize if this seems too JOB-like, but I know that there are struggling writers that can benefit from this info.

Love,
Shannon

sometimes you write a whole bunch of articles on a topic, to the point that its practically effortless to write yet another on the same topic.

(especially if you use dragon naturallyspeaking!)

if so... you can use those extra articles to post on EZA to promote your own stuff (comeon! you can put something together!), while still making money!

That's great to hear Shannon!

Seems to me around the beginning of this month there was a warrior out there asking how to do exactly what you've just done this month. I wonder what happened to her...

Just goes to show what happens when you take action and buckle down to work!
