Is Amazon store the way to go? Help is much appreciated.

Alright, I'm a newbie in IM business and I've decided to start my journey by promoting amazon products.

After days and days of studying the different keyword research methods, I've come up with mine, and here it is:

First, I choose a 2 or 3 words keyword then test them using Google keyword tool and market samurai (exact match ofc). I then search for long tail keywords with a good search volume ( between 1000 and 3000 per month) and low competition ( I look at the first 10 results and study their PR and backlinks)

Is my method correct? am I missing something?

So, after long hours of researching, I chose a 2 two words long product. We'll it's not exactly a product, it's more like a product type, for example : bedroom beds. Now, my keyword has a good competition ( in the top 10 results there are no 0PR pages, x1 PR1 , x1 PR2, x4 PR3 and x4 PR4) and has a high volume search( approx 8000). There are also many long tail related keywords with little to no competition and i'll be using them later on. My main keyword is for the home page.

Now, for the example I gave above which is "bedroom beds" there are plenty and plenty of beds out there and they cost between $500 and + $1500, should I choose the cheaper ones to promote? how should I promote these products? Should I create a store? with reviews for each type of bed?

Should I create a list? everyone says that money is in the list, but I can't see how creating a list would be beneficial. If I get a Email advising me to buy a bed, I would Ignore it.

I know there are a lot of questions in here, and I appreciate the time you're spending to answer them.

Thanks in advance and pardon any grammar mistakes, English is my third language.

Yes, you definitely want to build a list, but really if this is going to be a niche you are passionate about. You don't have to always sell beds to your list, but someone that buys a bed will be likely to buy other things in the future. Also, if they didn't buy the bed they were looking at initially but did sign up to your mailing list, it means they had an interest in it. This means you could maybe send them an email when the bed goes on sale, or you can promote the extended warranty, etc (just an example).

Also, if you make a site about beds, you're more likely to be selling a lot of additional relevant products (and you should).

If you're just building one site about a product as a quick sniper site then I wouldn't worry about building a list, but you could build a general list by offering people to notify them of when certain amazon products go on sale or something... I mean it's not going to be a high converting opt-in or list, but it gives you something to market to when the holidays come around.

I like Amazon stores because they are easy to implement, and I've sold quite a few items from my Amazon stores.

      Thanks, Clickmerchant.

Do you suggest any WP store themes? I have Shopperpress but I find it too complicated.

I would keep it simple to start with. Just create a store, there's no point in having a list until you get traffic and even then I don't think people who are looking for products from Amazon are interested in signing up to a list (I might be wrong on this but I never bother with maintaining a list).

When it comes the products, I would also keep it simple if it's your first site. Just go for some of the lower competition products i.e. the ones that are not at the top of the bestsellers page. You can always add these later. I never bother with keyword tools, the product + words such as review/buy/best/comparison are the keywords and if people are buying them from Amazon (i.e. you see some customer reviews) then there must be a demand. I would have a mix of prices - $500 and $1500 are both okay.

I think if you ask 10 people you would get 10 different answers. As long as the theme looks clean and simple and the site looks professional, the important stuff is what you write on the site.

Aside from that, I do like Woothemes, I use their themes on some of my Amazon sites, they even do some free themes that are nice. Elegantthemes is another. In general magazine styles are good for producing nice looking excerpts and headlines.
