Thinking of selling websites on fiverr, what do you think?

Hey all

With so many people talking about fiverr made me interested in registering and making some gigs

My plan is to sell ready to be installed sites ( I have amazon stores; autoblogs; adsense site etc.)

Just want to hear your opinion on my idea

Thanks

Why would you sell a ready made site for $5, when you can sell it here in the WF or on Craigslist for like $100?

I really don't understand why people are so interested in fiverr?

And yes I know someone will probably come on here and say it's great because you can sell 20 sites at $5 each and make a $100 that way, but I just don't understand why people go for the lowest price they can possibly get.

Well, just make sure you see sites that are automatically made. Also, once you reach level two, you can have an add on, and then start making sites for $25 or more.

    Ivan,

How long does it take you to put together a full completed website? Even if it only takes you 2 hours and you charge $5 less the $1 paid to Fiver themselves - that means you only make $2 an hour.

Surely your time is worth more than that? And that's assuming it only takes you 2 hours which I seriously doubt.

You need to place more value on your time and your work. Don't be afraid to charge what you are worth. When you are first starting out it may be difficult to get business because you are unknown, so much my suggestion is to offer a few free websites to some reputable people who can then give you a testimonial.

That testimonial will be worth far more than selling several sites on Fiver for such a low price.

Selling a site for 5 $ is a waste... I wouldn't sell a blank page site for that!

The domain itself is worth about 10 $, but usually a domain name makes some sense... many domains can be sold for 100s of dollars.

I'd try Sedo and not Fiverr...

Unfortunately Fiverr is not the kind of site. Not good for selling sites, domains etc.

On Sedo you might sell it for 100 $ at least, while Fiverr would be a waste of time and would only bring you "pocket money"...

You can sell them on offlancer.com for $100 each.
    Better then $5!

Please don't sell yourself short. If you think you can make a great website don't just settle for fiverr. You can sell your website in other online sites WF included and even fetch a better price.

    Hi Ivan,

Definitely do not sell them on Fiverr..that is the last place to go in order to sell websites..I'm amazed how people often underestimate them selves and how much their work worths..

I use Fiverr often for different things, and I see many top notch educated people there selling services for $5 and they could easily sell those services for $100+ !!!

    Sedo, Offlancer, Flippa..

Even if you sold a website for a $1 some tool would complain and issue a chargeback !. What you are selling is marketable but should be worth $199 minimum. I have had success in the past by going through local businesses in the yellow pages and sending a direct mail to those who dont have a website and offering a complete package

I don't think you mean original unique websites do you ?

If it is websites with PLR content then it's just means you send a link to the buyer to download the site ?

The money to be made is on the back end as it's likely people buying websites for $5 may need help setting up hosting etc....

Definitely. I hope this is your original plan of action. Perhaps sign up as an affiliate with one of the hosting services. otherwise it is not even worth the time to create the advertisement.

As others have said, unless you're registering a blogger or wordpress.com and then sending the login details to the client, I cant see how this would be worth the $4 you make per sale.

That would make sense only if you're not selling DOMAINS with it. By site, you're just basically selling HTML pages with (probably) spun content on it.

    Nice hustle. Go for it!

Yeah, I agree that selling the platform of a site may be worth it (even then, you could try to go for higher prices at other places like the WF), but what about the domain names?

They cost at least $5, so where's your profit?

Thanks all for your advice so,

The sites as I said are ready to be installed or PLR, I have a LOT of sites,
So if selling on Fiverr, when someone orders i just send them the files of the site; I have also thought of the idea of offering additional services- installing; maybe even some SEO services, but for the additional service you have to be 2 level and I am not sure what is necessary to get there.

About the other places you have mentioned:

WF- I posted one offer sold all my review copies, got good feedback from buyers and that was it, I bumped the thread but no sales, maybe my offer isnt attractive/good enough, not sure.
I will definitely try WF again soon, but at the moment dont feel like spending additional 20$,

Craigslist- I paid a person from odesk to post some offers, but All I received was spam in my e-mail

      Flippa- Posted 4 sites- 1 sold for minimum profit; 3 ended unsold;
Selling turnkey sites on Flippa is much harder not to say impossible now, Whole different story than lets say 6 months ago. /My opinion/

So pretty confused and not sure how to approach it.

I did that before on fiverr. I charge 10x times gig to get instant site ready with hosting, domain included.
