Knowing a users location on the fly?

Is there a program that will identify the IP address location (city) of a user of my web site and allow me to integrate it in to advertisement pertaining to that IP address location?

I have a directory service but instead of having my users search for a local listing I want the listing to populate wherever the prospect goes.

Any ideas?

Hello Brian

Be aware that these services are notoriously inaccurate.

When I try this with my own IP address, they say I'm in London, which is 500 miles away.

As far as I'm concerned, the most accurate geo-IP location service is provided by the company MaxMind. They are very good at what they do. Their paid databases are much more comprehensive than their free one, but the free one isn't bad either.
