The Power of Facebook Advertising
I don't think facebook advertising gets it's fare share of publicity on this forum. we all see the fiver gigs of get 1000 likes etc or people selling facebook fan pages with 1 million likes for $500. so this kind of thinking has devalued facebook advertising.
Facebook has two main forms of advertising. the adverts that run along the side of the screen and adverts to promote fan page posts.
From my experience adverts to promote fan page posts are more effective, it depends on what you are advertising or what the post is about.
Here is an example of one of the adverts I done.
To avoid the xmas and new years taxi rip off just like and share http://www.facebook.com/YellowTaxis and you will get taxis / priavte hire vehicles at normal rate.
This cost me $7 to reach an audience of 6000 people, I got 15 new likes who will most likely book and become customers.
This method could be used in other industry's such as plumbers, hair dressers etc.
Also one form of advertising that does not get enough mention that does give decent return on investment yelp, yell, foursquare, Thomson local, 118, 192.
