Clickbank Affiliate Doesn't Draw Money

Sorry, wasn't sure how to title this post, but here is my question.

Hypothetically, I'm a Clickbank Vendor, I have affiliates that are selling my product and they have all kinds of money in their accounts. Let's say, one dies. Yes, I hope this does not happen, but he has over $1,000 sitting in that account. What happens to that money?

I guess it depends on their will? Or would it come back to me, the vendor?

Or...what if an affiliate just forgot he had an affiliate account and had $1,000 sitting in it for 4 years...would it just sit there? Or is there a time frame where Clickbank will either take the money, or send it to the vendor?

These are probably questions for Clickbank, just wanted to see what the great folks on WF had to say!

Why would money earned by them go to you?

Commission earned by an affiliate doesn't belong to you, it belongs to them. What a bizarre question.

Don't worry, Clickbank can use the money. Since they have quite strict terms to be fulfilled before they start sending out any funds, there must be millions and millions of dollars already years in their possession - money belonging to the people who have not succeeded yet to meet their 5 different credit card policy.

That's the most interesting ClickBank question I've heard in a long time. But the others are correct, it doesn't belong to you, it would get automatically sent out to that affiliate or deposited into their account. I don't think the dormant account policy would apply for a while because that money would still be sent out or deposited into the deceased affiliate's bank account.

Anyway, kind of an irrelevant, but interesting question nonetheless. LOL

D@mn dude, you sound greedy as heck.

That's the kind of greediness that makes CB look bad. CB is just as much to blame, they allow way too many schemes to go on with vendors.

I'm an affiliate that sells CB products, major turn off after reading this thread.

Not really. It actually makes logical sense. If there was 'unclaimed' money in a CB account for a very long time, it should go to the vendor, it was there product that this money purchased after all.

Something is seriously wrong with you If you actually believe that.

If a CB vendor died, do you think their money should be distributed between all their affiliates? After all, the vendor isn't squat without affiliates traffic, that's the whole point of CB (affiliates generating traffic/sales).

This is the dark side of IM, greediness, wanting things that don't belong to you (people in general).

What bothers me is, you & OP actually think it's ok to take money from dead people or their family, or even people that don't keep up with their CB account. That's just wrong in so many ruthless ways.

  • Agree with Miles. Something to think about is what to do if you die.

My wife knows a bit about my biz, just keep the PayPal account and credit card details open and the hosting, domains and payments should keep flowing.

Why on earth are you wasting good time worrying about trivial things like this?

Your affiliates dying? Sorry, what on earth made you worry about this?!

If Click Bank's answer Is Yes, the vendor gets the money, there will be 1000 dead affiliates tomorrow :p

But I think It's the affiliates money because they earned It, and I don't think someone with a load of money In their Clickbank account Is going to "forget" about an asset like that. I'm sure just like with anything related to money, upon death things will be taken care of ethically and legally (In most cases).
