Video Marketing vs. Article Marketing

Hi guys! Quick Question do you prefer video marketing or good old fashion article marketing?

For me personally I'm still fairly new to the whole video marketing thing and article marketing works pretty well for me I love to write and provide valuable content. I'm just wondering how many of you out there are using video marketing and how productive it is for you if you are?

I use both and both can be effective. I shied away from video marketing for quite some time as I thought it would involve a lot of fancy things I didn't know how or want to do such as narrating etc., but it really isn't that hard to put short vids together to get your site out there with free tools such as Youtubes Stupeflex. Here is an older interesting read that has still been effective for me.

    Do both.

Turn your articles into videos by either recording yourself discussing your article content or recording a camtasia presentation.

Why go into a battle with one hand tied behind your back!

Another good one to use for creating videos with is one true media, you can use if for free.

I would recommend to use both, especially that you have tried both. This is probably the best way, for the best results. Good luck!

The good old article marketing can be really effective but there is nothing wrong in using both video marketing too. It will give faster results.

look at your article as the template for your video.

post that article then record yourself using the article as your dialog. Put a intro in front of the video with logo for branding. Embed your video on your site with the original article.

I have yet to use videos but I think everyone's replies are good bits of advice.

Your article is like your script. You can refer to it and translate that into a video.

A combination of both really is good. If readers want to see your plan in action, well, that's where the video kicks in.

Video marketing is really good. It allows you to demonstrate how your product works without saying too much. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then imagine what a video will be worth.

There is nothing better than video marketing with your face and body expression. This goes way back to the days of Socertes and Persuasion. Communication is better projected with your posture and tone more than your words.

You speak with passion and people will be drawn to you :-)

I do both, and get good results from both. Especailly when you send your list back to your videos.

    Here are 2 big tips.

Use articles for presells and send them to optin pages.

Use videos in your sales pages, they always double our conversions rates. Cool huh!

doing both is good... but it is better to focus on what you can do best... if you think your convincing power works really great in writing, then produce more articles than videos...

Depends on what you promote...For some products/sites, article marketing may be good and for some sites, video marketing will work better! Using both with other marketing methods in a ratio (which you can decide) will work better for any type of site!

A combination of the two is great... but i think that they target two different groups of people!!!! i have seen that in most sites that i surf, there are so many videos but most of them are low grade and boring, some articles are more engaging than visuals... It depends with the execution!

Ive attempted to do both and I enjoy doing video marketing rather than article marketing. Im a Visual learner and to write long articles is somewhat tedious to me. videos give me the chance to be creative, I've learned the video SEO ways and it has just worked better for me than articles

I am a huge convert to video marketing - you are getting two for the price of one when you make a video with narration.

I am just finishing up with my next 3 video tutorials and already I have produced more than 10,000 words of unique content for my site!

Sure you have to go back and tidy up/transcribe the text but it's worth the investment for such a huge return.

I recommend both as well. Most users are only visual and understand someone's actions better than reading a big chunk of text..Vise versa for the other people.

In my marketing model of syndicating articles for online/offline publications, video marketing is not practical for wide distribution. However, using video for illustrating complex topics or product demonstrations on my websites is a powerful conversion factor for traffic driven by article marketing. Rather than video marketing vs article marketing, for me it's just plain old marketing using articles and video synergistically.

I like making videos much more than writing, also, as long as I'm not in the video or using my own voice.

Even though videos take longer to make, there is something from a creativity point of view I find making videos to be more satisfying.

A good combination of both actually works. many blogs use video in their articles as do tons of News web sites. For some strange reason people tend to read the article if it has video. Go figure! lol I would suggest both. Some of us like to read, some of us are visual. But they are both great food for the search engines! :-0)

I really like to write more than anything, so I typically prefer articles and books.

This is unfortunate, because the majority of people prefer video; in my opinion it has a higher perceived value.

But yeah it's easy to create videos with jing or other free tools. All you need is a script and a powerpoint presentation.

This is a tough question, and i agree with some responses here. It really depends on your goal. Article marketing can be used for solid backlinks to your site or sending people to a squeeze page while video marketing doesnt really give you backlinks..

yeah video marketing works really well simply because if you just look at youtube and the amount of visitors daily it has, you can see that you want to get some of t hat traffic. So yeah while article marketing is still solid, video marketing is catching and surpassing it.

I would definitely say Video Marketing all the way.

I did enjoy article marketing back when Google gave Ezine Articles more authority but now my favorite method is with ranking YouTube videos.

Some would argue that article marketing syndication is still a very powerful way to receive traffic. And I agree that it can be, if you do it right.

But I enjoy the leverage that videos have because of the high page rank from a video site like YouTube, as well as the fact that the majority of people would prefer to watch a video over reading text. Which can be beneficial for conversions.

Also having a thumbnail image in the search engines captures more eye balls and can bring in more clicks than when you have a basic text headline from an article post.

And more importantly videos are very easy to rank in the SERPS. You can easily benefit from YouTube as well as the organic Google traffic.

So to answer your other question, it is very productive.

Video marketing hands down. First of all Youtube is owned by Google. And they are a PR9 site. Who do you think google will rank higher its child or an article site? Also video is being watched more and more now and is only getting bigger. Article marketing is still good but not as good as it use to be.

Really depends on what the purpose for the article is. If it is a site article I will often embed the video inside the article. If it is for syndication I will normally just use the text .. unless it is a repeat site I have a good relationship with. Then I will normally ask if they want an imbedded version.

It depends on your desired outcome or what action you wish the visitor to take.

From my experience as a niche affiliate marketer, video does not convert as well as an article due to the fact that their are too many distractions and easy for someone to click the related video's when the video finishes playing, so their are leaks.

The other thing is that when people watch video they become very passive and harder to get them to take an action, whereas with text the visitor is actively engaged in reading and scrolling, so they are more likely to click the links embedded in your article.

Video is good for diversity of backlinks.

Video is also good for sending traffic to a squeeze page.

When it comes to affiliate marketing it is harder to get people to convert to sales sending them directly to the affiliate merchant site.

I send traffic to my articles or squeeze pages and convert from there, but again it is an annoying and unneccesary step for all parties.

Yes, video does rank well in Google with a tonne of backlinks. You can rank a video in days sometimes hours on the first page.

But the videos are getting in the way of the articles that convert better.

This is from my experience. Though I believe video is good for CPA offers for getting paid per lead email/zip submit.

For me, I find videos in the search engines that are so low quality and just get in my way. lol

I have also found that people can easily flag your videos and get them deleted.

Like everything online the best thing to do is test for yourself. That is the only way to find out the truth.

I suggest use both and embed youtube video into your article to increase time on site (reduce bounce rate) and also as Google likes it as they own youtube and love links to their site. If you don't create your own video then you can just grab someone else's and make sure you remove the tick that says "show related videos when video finishes playing".

For video creation you can find a tonne of people on fiverr or just get a scribd tool - "Sparkol Video Scribe" is a good one..

    Peace!

I like article marketing better. You can create great content, and then diversify this content all over the web. With video marketing, you're 1 dimensional - even though Youtube gets millions of hits everyday. Test and see though. My money is on article marketing though. I get more traffic from it.

I'm going for both while I notice that video marketing usually bring more traffic to me compare to article marketing. Article marketing more help in generate strong backlink compare to bringing traffic right now .
That is why you see lot of blogger start using both video and text in a blog post and some direct change to vlog which mean fully earn money with youtube video will do .
