I Miss the 'Buy Me a Beer' Icon

Any oldskool warriors around who miss BMAB function here?

I personally used it alot, throwing beers at other Warriors who went out of their way. And I found I always got WAY more back than the cost of the paypal (beer) I sent to the helping Warrior.

Wondering why it was ever taken down...?

MODS -- How about a "Warrior Tip Jar" feature? Perhaps you only get that function after a certain amount of posts or something....

Some of us brought this up a long time ago. It never happened.

Well hell Joe, that thread about addresses it right?

Mods - feel free to remove. Or consider this more outcry to bring back the BMAB feature!

That add-on was for Snitz, the previous forum software. It went away when we moved to vBulletin. I don't know that there is such a plugin for VB.

I can't help but think this sounds like a solvable problem even if there is not an out of the box plugin.

Whether its worth doing or not is way outside my pay grade however.

I suggested that a "Suggestion Section" be added. Post there

    Suggestion Forum

Who knows, maybe they will allow It :p

The "beer" part of it is kind of limiting, and presupposes a bit.

I appreciate that it's meant as a metaphor, though.
"Buy me a Cinzano Bianco with bitter lemon" is perhaps a little too wordy for a "button"? ...

Nice! Lol! Is that a straw or a tongue? Either way, that's funny.... My first thought was a tongue, because I watch the lizard cartoon "Oscar's Oasis" if you have never seen it, its pretty funny

I'm not sure if this was considered as part of the "didn't replace it" decision, but someone figured out how to scrape that system for Paypal email addresses. I don't expect it was at all difficult. "Hit the buttons" where they existed and get the address from either the URL or the resulting page.

With the way spear phishing tactics have improved, I'm pretty sure it would cause a lot of problems if that happened today.

            good points.

so its all those spammers that are keeping my fridge empty of beer? Now i am pissed. Just one more reason to hate scammers.

Its ok, I prefer tequila anyway.
