You're probably asking for too much in a forum post. But I can definitely help you and it's easy.

Subscribe to lists and learn from them.

Content and softer sell emails will generally come from those who understand email marketing and how to build relationships via email. And there are different ways to do this. Some use a lot of stories sprinkled with personal experiences.

    Bob Bly, who's a copywriter. Bly.com, I think. He's worth learning from.

Matt Furey is (was?) considered to be one of the best email writers around.

There are many others. Lisa Parmley writes excellent softsell emails.

Jill Whalen w/ High Rankings Advisor for content.

For hard sells... just about any well known IM guru, in my experience. Get on a bunch of lists from people selling here if you want to see some hard selling. But not all (here) are like that.

Vin Montello knows how to write excellent stories. Check out his list.

Last but not least... Paul Myers from here. Content, soft selling, stories, urban myths and various legends from places unknown...

    they both speak for themselves

soft sells you slowly bring in the pitch for the product perhaps even within a story and maybe in the PS:

hard sells are when you pretty much get straight into it and you use a time sensitive offer in order to create lots of scarcity (this is why dime sales work so well)
