This is something interesting I have done this week!!!

I got a advertisement handbill in news paper with wide list of general purpose homemade medicines like shampoos, pain killer creams, fairness creams, anti bacterial soaps etc.
But I have not seen a website name onthat bill. So I contacted them, get the number of their marketing manager and ask for a website name. They said they do not have any website right now. Immediately I offer him to develop a website for them. They said they do not have budget for it.

So I ask them that I am an internet marketer and I can promote your product over internet targetting local market. I can put their banners/product details on my blog and for each sale give me % share on each sale. They agree and forwarded my proposal ahead.

If we agrees then I will became the first and exclusive affiliate marketer for this company!!!

Well good for you for trying something different. Remember: if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.

I thought about something like this before.
Do you have an idea how they can count your leads?

Hi Avirtt, this is the local business owner and not too old. What I told them is new for them and they seems curious.

For payment processing and lead count, probably I will take help of any ecommerce expert.

I waiting for their call. Let see how this deal goes on...

So you end up with at least making site with "payment processing" for them?
Not many serious businesses will let stranger to do it. Even if you'll meet them face to face.
I think negotiations can take a months and results are not obvious.

I subscribed to this thread in hope you'll share the rest of story.

I have done something similar with a wholesale furniture supplier in my city. He said he is not interested in making website, so I made an agreement that whenever I sent client to his showroom, I should get 15% commission. He agreed, But, when I make a website, perform some local SEO and drive clients, how can I track the clients?

Like I told, it's mostly about trust. Much more than about money you'll spent on development.
Anyway I'd like to hear about result even if it's negative.

              K mec,
That is truly great. You went 'outside the box' so to speak and did something that is probably going to be very lucrative to your business.

I like these kind of stories ,and I need to start looking at opportunities more like this

I like this kind of thinking !

Well done for showing initiative and getting in touch with them, you'll figure something out in regards to making money from it. It's strange to think there are still companies out there that don't have website and don't understand the importance of them. There's tons of ways your can monetize from these guys, making a website, SEO, social media management, online marketing, commission from selling their products. Think about as many ways as possible, do a good job one one aspect then sell them the next idea.

Get a product and price list from them. Set up your own ecommerce site and basically use them for your drop shipper. Everything runs through your account so you will know exactly how many sales you have made.
