Wordpress blog setup help!

This my 1st paid blog and i need help from you
P.s :i use hostgator for hosting
i made every thing in the control panel until i extract the files of wordpress on the site and the next step i have to open url which give me wordpress error " there doesn't seem to be a wp-config.php file blah blah blah .. creat configuration file

the problem here where i get this link which give this error message so i can create configuration
please help

    Open the wordpress file you downloaded from wordpress, find a file called wp-config-sample.php and change to wp-config.php.

    Upload to your host.

    Do you know how to change the database details etc? If not I suggest read the tutorials at wordpress.org.

        i just watch video about how to setup wordpress and make every step like in the video until i reach that problem.
        can i do this Fantastico now after all steps i make?

          Yes, you can still do it. You haven't uploaded any files yet.

          It should just overwrite what you have installed so far. Give it a try. If it doesn't work then delete everything in the directory and start again.

        Exactly. I just went to their cPanel Demo, they have a Quick install.

        Go down to Software/Services - Click QuickInstall - You will see Wordpress over on the left.

    Sounds like you might be a little in over your head if you've never installed Wordpress before. It's not too hard once you have done it.

    Doesn't Hostgator have a 1 click install for Wordpress? Most hosts have this....you simply add your domain click to install Wordpress on that domain and you're done.

    I would contact Hostgator, they should be able to clear this up for you or maybe help you get it installed. If not, just shoot me a PM, I'll help you out I've sent up plenty of Wordpress sites.

    i try all the 3 ways ( quickinstall, manual, Fantastico ) to setup wordpress and every time when i try to log into the my blog i got OpenDns error and my blog directed to website-unavailable.com
    why? and how to get rid of it?

      Have you got your nameservers pointed correctly at your HG site?
      Did you clear your browser cache in between installs?

      You seem to be making very hard work of what is normally a simple process, if you cannot solve the problem ask HG support they may be able to help and or check the configurations or whatever.

      I think, like Tim3, that you haven't set your nameservers correctly with your registrar.

      WordPress won't install to a temporary URL, so you'll need the nameservers pointing at the Hostgator DNS that they supplied you with before it will install correctly.

      Delete all files from the directory, make sure your nameservers are correct then use Fantastico. It installs easily within seconds if all else is correct.
