I have a "work at home" related mailing list and blogs. I have a subscriber who is looking for ways to make money but does not reside in the USA. She is located in St. Lucia which is in the Caribbean. Off hand, I only know of programs that are for US residents. Anyone have any ideas I can give to her? |

Are you looking specifically for a work at home job? Your title said job but your post said programs so not sure. The majority of work at home jobs that I'm aware of are for US, Canada and those in the UK. |

Freelancing is an option. She can offer writing services and if she is tech-savvy, she can add web design and programming to her suite of services. I think location if irrelevant for home-based jobs. As long as you have a computer and good internet connection, you are good to go. |

Anywhere there is an internet connection, one can earn money using freelancing option. Some affiliate programs pay outside of the areas mentioned, can use text ads, text links selling etc. to work from home.

St Lucia is an American province, isn't it? If not it is British they should be able to do the same as anyone else. I know Puereto Ricans can do the same things as the mainlanders |

Hi There are many work at home opportunities for people regardless of where they live. If you think about it just look around the forum - we all work on the net but are not all in the USA. Some may have their own offices but when it comes down to it all the work is done on a computer. There's a wealth of opportunites from affiliate marketing, providing services, virtual assistants, ghostwriters, creating and selling own products, selling on eBay etc. etc. etc. Some of the requirements for working on the net are belief in yourself, determination and a willingness to learn. Most of what is needed can be learnt in this forum. Mary |

She can make money as a Clickbank affiliate if the country is accepted. Clickbank is a great choice for her.

To take a contrarian view for a moment, the sad truth is, no matter how much we want to help everyone, sometimes we just can't. There are folks who don't have the necessary minimum skills to do the jobs or run the businesses that we might suggest. My first thouight, like TrafficBug, was to recommend freelancing, but that's not always a realistic option. The reader may or may not have the skill set needed. I've had people ask me the same kind of questions, but once I started asking what they can do, they just didn't have the necessary basics. That's the reason employers want to know about experience. Training from the basics up is an option, but it does take time and money. For Example: Copywriting - does s/he have the years of persuasion and sales experience needed? Web design - does s/he know enough about HTML, design and other basics? Article writing - does s/he know how to research a topic and write without blatant copying? Transcribing - can s/he touch type and spell? Sometimes a person innocently asks us for help not knowing what's involved. And no matter how much we ache for that person and want o help them, they're just not in a place where a quick suggestion will do the job. Face it - we can't always solve every problem for every reader, and to claim we can may be overstepping our own abilities. Although we do want to solve every problem for every one of our readers, and we honestly do try to, it takes two. Us, with our understanding of what's available and how to go get it, and them, with their available skill levels. So even though you have many good answers for your readers, they are not a one-size-fits-all. This means that you should continue trying to help, but don't be too hard on yourself if the occasional reader just simply isn't ready yet, and will need some of that basics-up training I mentioned before they can really get going. Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand, Charles |

Article writing and copy writing would definitely top my list of suggestions.
