Online Storage Solution?

Hi all,

I am coming to the board for some much needed guidance. I have a need to have 1500 individual users store files in private accounts on my web servers. The users are all neophites so this would have to be a simple solution. I am also trying to avoid creating each users folder manually. Do any of you know of any solutions that might allow to create the accounts/floders via an ascii file?

    I'm also a little confused about the design requirements Rick:

    Are you looking for a secure online file storage service like Amazon S3?

    Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)

    Or are you wanting to implement an area on your existing website that users can store and manage their own files? If so what is your site built on now - WordPress, Joomla, stand-alone PHP?

    I implemented an online file sharing service for a school district here a couple of years ago, however it was a Windows (IIS) based solution so it may not be relevant.

    Wow! Thanks for all the replies guys. I guess I was a little vague in my post. I apologize. I was in a hurry and wanted to get it posted before I left my computer.

    I am a teacher in a very poor school district. Our school is underfunded when it comes to technology. There is no money for this project. I will be funding this for the most part. So cost is a factor here. I want a solution that would allow middle school students to store their work online. I am trying to set it up so that each student can have his/her own login and unique storage area. Any suggestions?

    Any help is appreciated
