Yes. The question is why do people fail with Google adwords. I read a lot of people complaining adwords was of no use to their website and they just lost money without any good gain. What are the possible reasons for not being able to make use of this advertising tool?
#adwords #fail #google #people
  • Because it's became crazy expensive for most decent keywords and it's very difficult to even breakeven unless you have a pretty advanced sales funnel.

From my experience it is because people do not make enough profit per sale and/or do not have upsells or rebills.

In my opinion Adwords PPC prices are very high (at least for the markets that I am in). It's almost impossible for me to make money on my initial sale. My goal (with adwords) is to at least break even when obtaining a new customer and then make my money on upsells.

I've had 2 or 3 successful campaigns where when it's said and done...i turned a profit...had about a dozen failures.

      Hiya,

Really good question and a lesson need to be learned from previous campaign.

Reason why 35% of my campaign failed for various customers and myself because of-
      1) My targated KW and the audiance and geo target.
      2) My sales process
      3) Realiability and track record of certain website.
      4) Quality of products and of course pricing
      5) Campign run time ( duration ) + timing ( seasons that I choose to run )
      6) Lack of confidance on various occassions.
      7) After sales support from the site.
and many other variables that I have counted so far for my various clients and ofcourse the pricing of the products and how many reviews else where you have about your products.

      Just my thought.

I think we can all share our experience and built ourselves stronger.

      Kind regards,
      Swrajit

Just a thought, a lot of people do not test and track results. If you track you can eliminate wasting a lot of your funds and efforts.

Bid more on keywords getting you more traffic and higher ROI
Rework graphic banners to get more attraction/clicks
Pinpoint sites specific to your niche and advertise exclusively on those sites.

There are tons of factors that will contribute the failure, but noting some of the common ones should be a start to changing that. :-)

I think its due to the fact that people dont want to learn.Yes you can create an ad in adwords in just a minute, but do you know everything about adwords or how to run a successful adwords campaign? People fail because they spend blindly and they dont want to test.

One of the biggest reasons why people fail with Google adwords is they tend to think more like marketers... and less like their prospects.

When you go through the entire process of setting up the ads and putting in the keywords... it helps to really put yourself in your prospects shoes and design the campaign around what it is that THEY want to see on google, in order for them to click on your ads, see your landing page, and take the action you want them to take.

Since Google adwords is one of the biggest and best marketing tools available, it can become quite easy to go through it and use it while thinking like a marketer.

But go through it and set up the entire thing while THINKING like your PROSPECT... and you automatically begin to find new keyword ideas that aren't as competitive or expensive.

You begin to write ads that touch the emotional trigger points of your market... your ads connect with them more.

that's been my biggest reason for success on Google adwords... it's been from writing and designing campaigns based on what I think my prospects need to see and read in order to take the actions I want them to take.

Which keywords are they sitting down and putting into Google?

What can I put into my ad that will focus on solving their problems, or showing them that you understand their pain? How can your ad show them that you can help them?

and then, of course, your landing page has to do the job as well, to get them to take action on your offer.

So from start to finish... while putting in your keywords and writing your ads...
start thinking like the prospect and not a marketer and i guarantee you, your adwords accounts will work better.

google will show you more love, your prospects will act on your offers more, and you'll be more successful all around.

Anytime I use adwords, I'm thinking of my prospect's urgent problem or desire, and then I'm giving them a unique promise and unquestionable proof that I can help.

So far, this formula hasn't led me too far astray, since I've been using adwords successfully for the past 9 years and have spent well over a million dollars with them in that time.

When designing adwords, think like your prospects and they will welcome and embrace it... and treat you well by ordering what you got!

Most people believe that they'll create the ad and make money. They don't realize the amount of testing that goes into the ad copies. Besides, the landing page is, on some occasions, subpar, not providing a decent enough EPC when compared to what you're spending in the offer itself.

You pay for clicks. That means that you pay whenever someone clicks on your ad, regardless of whether that click converted or not. So you may get clicks from visitors who have no intention of ever buying your product or service.

You are restricted by the amount of characters you're allowed. 25 in the headline, 35 each in the two lines of text and 35 in the display URL. And you ideally need to include an attention-grabbing headline, keywords, benefits and a call to action in that.

It can be tricky. There's a rather steep learning curve when it comes to AdWords, and mistakes may cost you dear. You need to invest quite a lot of time after the campaign's been set up to ensure that it has been done so properly. And then you need to keep monitoring it to find out what's converting and what's not, and so on.

Google looks at the quality of your landing pages too, so if your website is not up to scratch in terms of relevancy to the search query, so you can't just rely on AdWords to get you traffic and neglect your SEO. Make sure your landing pages are good, and that they relate to what's in your ads. This will improve your Quality Score, which will mean you pay less for your clicks.

I think one reason is the they spend too much tried to have their ads on the top which eroded their earning..
any other suggestions beside it being expensive?

The main reason is they don't give more relevancy between ads , keywords and landing pages.

It cause not only high bid price but also low conversion rate.

    Traffic means nothing without conversion

    • In my experience, you don't get quick results with Adwords. Remember, you're working in a niche and you need a large dataset to draw any statistically meaningful conclusions. This takes time.

My last Adwords campaign was stable and running smoothly after nine months of testing. I think most people don't have that kind of patience.

It's expensive and honestly as a first time user it's not user friendly and very confusing...and when you ask for help everyone has a different opinion on how to run a campaign.

That's just my experience...spent lots of money and no results

Not every product is right for adwords. If your margins are low, you may make a few bucks hunting after small niche searches, but it can be a lot of effort for a small payoff. The campaigns that tend to really perform well are for products with a high margin and/or a high rate of repeat customers.

I found it cost too much - other forms of paid traffic worked better for me.

Depending on your niche you may or may not even be able to advertise. Some keywords are simply blocked without the appropriate license.

You just need to have money to spend, don't go in with a $100 coupon thinking you are going to make money. Doesn't work like that.

Also, you really need some fine tuned sales funnels because its hard to make it work on single conversion points. I honestly would never bother running a campaign with a single conversion point due to low probability of reaching a high enough ROI.
