Newbie looking to branch out into IM

Hey guys, just joined up to this forum due to searching for ways to make money online. I'd just like a bit of advice.

I currently make around £500-£600 per month via my YouTube channel, but was looking to branch out and these forums are a really good resource I'm just lost.

I was looking at buying a pre-made website that I can just add my adsense details in and start making money, but surely it can't be that simple can it?

I am just looking for a little bit of a push in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance guys!!

Generally I'd stay away from "Automatic" and "Autopilot" done for you websites. Generally you're going to need to know a few things and put in a little work!

I'd just recommend taking advantage of all the knowledge you can get here first and then when you're ready build your own website.

Start looking around and try to learn keyword research that will be your first step into our wonderful world of IM

      Thanks for the reply!

It's not that I'm not willing to put the work in, it's just a fear of getting it wrong, I mean I already have a blog (not been updated in a while) but it didn't seem to be getting the views I'd expected. Here's the blog in case you wanted to give me any advice on it? MickeyMontz Beats

First up, you really should drop the 'fear' bit. If you are doing IM work of any description, you will get it 'wrong' from time to time. Learn from your mistakes and keep right on trying!

As for your blog, I'm seeing a music website and reading a dating ad. for over 40's in the right hand side column. That's not a good look right there! Unrelated niche nonsense and distracting. Your blog domain name -
MickeyMontz Beats - is unclear to what its content is. Why not buy a domain name that details your music line, and do some keyword research before you purchase a new domain for SEO reasons. The extension 'blogspot' tends to turn many people off as it suggests an amateurish webmaster.

Montz, I would encourage you to stay with your blog for now and tweak it. If this is your area of passion it makes sense to continue in this arena, and on this site! You can add IM features by promoting relevant Amazon music products, well placed Adsense and some well chosen affiliate products. You could also join up with other bloggers, website owners in the music niche by commenting with useful info on their sites, with a link back to your blog. Join some music forums. Associate with other musical types and network a lot.

Continue working on your Facebook, Twiiter and YouTube pages, make sure they exactly match your blog's branding and follow more musical minded people. You need to promote yourself passionately and get others to notice you. Also, ping your blog every time you update, and blog new content with good SEO keywords as often as possible. Add your blog to Technorati to gain more attention.

Write music articles, publish widely, encourage others, entertain us with your brilliance, music up the universe! I like the look of your blog's aesthetic, mostly, but if you are bored with it then consider changing to another template or design. Freshen up your approach.

You might also consider placing a small, well-worded ad. including your site's URL, in music newspapers, industry magazines and other same niche websites when you have the funds. You need to connect with your target audience. Best of luck!

Thanks again guys this is good advice.

David, thanks a lot for that. Yes this is my area (I am a music producer) this is how I got started on YouTube etc. I guess the main thing here is to up my work rate! It's hard considering I'm at university at the moment but when I have spare time I will definately get onto this!

Not sure about the dating adverts being on my page though, maybe something messed up with adsense, I'll try look into it.

Much appreciated, you guys are amazing.

Montz, if workload is an issue then why not consider outsourcing to others when you can? With university it sounds like you are super busy as it is already. Outsourcing needn't be expensive and you can delegate tasks one at a time if needs be. I'm sure your traffic numbers will explode with a bit of smart planning!

            Cheers.

I think you could get the best results fast if you stick more to something you know a lot about and if that is youtube, try to focus on making money with youtube. You can build a new profile and do video marketing for the products you want to promote or promote cpa offers with some of your videos.

    Hi,

You can multiply your youtube earnings! You just have to double your work or make another account and do what you did before on youtube. In that way, your earnings will multiply!

    Regards,

I'd say for stick to what you know well and are already having success with...Youtube/video.

There are many different ways you can monetize Youtube, how are you earning your income there now?
You can monetize with ads, promote affiliate products, sell ad space in your videos if you're getting alot of views....the list goes on.

Or like others have said, you can create other youtube channels/identities in other niches and do product reviews and such for affiliate commissions.

if you are making £500-£600 per month already, it seams that you are doing a good job.. just focus on it more, and you can scale it up definitelly..double it, tripple it.. of course you can allways start a new venture(actually recommendable) when you have a satisfying income from one stream

You should build a site from scratch and sell your own product. Then do more Youtube marketing and drive traffic to your brand new site. I'm willing to bet that you'd probably make more money on your site from an ebook vs Adsense.

You really need to put that site on your own hosting. That's a good looking site. I have a guitar lessons list and have just started a new music site music-13.com.

I would be interested in an affiliate relationship. My list is growing at around 100 new subs per day. I am getting insanely cheap FB traffic and you might be able to as well.

I think you have a lot of potential and should roll-out the music site.

Let me know if there's anything I can do.
