These are the things that would ruin your business. It is not always the best to put more and more scenes on your blog. Simplicity always work the best. Somehow, it is also the number of people who trust you with your product and services. People are the one who put life to our blog and help us generate more income not just our own fancy sites.

I totally agree. I try to make all my sites looks as close to Google's design as possible, I think the way they build all sites is amazing. Lots of white space, minimal graphics, links for navigation, etc.

I learned very early when writing code on the old CGA monitors (dating myself) that you NEVER wanted to put red lettering on a blue background or blue lettering on a red background. The human eye can't see both colors at the same time so it becomes very stressful for the user.

Two other no-no's. Content not targeted to your visitors and not enough new quality content. PW |

Hi alpalino I agree with most of your points except point 7 and I still half agree with it ![]() I agree that pop ups are annoying and I don't use them, but pop unders are a fantastic way to build a focused list and I use them regularly. They are unintrusive since the visitor doesn't see them until they click away from the site, so they effectively double the value of your real estate. Other than that, I totally agree with the rest of your post ![]() Talk again soon. Enjoy your day! Terry |

ads: as a marketer, we WANT people to click on ads.. one way to prevent that is to label them as such.. pop ups/unders: these still can work wonders. if conversions/sales go UP by using them, then I'd say that more people did NOT take issue with them vs those that did. People vote with their credit cards. |

Some images as background might be good, they just have to be selected properly but for the most part, you're right. Your list is pretty good |

I like loose visitors ... leads to better conversions I would like to know the secret on how to make them more loose. I hate to lose them though. The number one way to lose them is lack of simplicity and high page load times that lead to a high bounce rate.

Yep, pretty much all of those things will have me instantly hitting my back button. We netizens are a fickle bunch :P
