Fiverr no longer accepting "make money" type Gigs?

So... I put up a Gig on Fiverr for an ebook I created and it got denied.

I put in a support ticket asking if an error was made in denying it as my Gig wasn't the only one of its kind. Saw quite a few hundred similar Gigs on there.

Got a response back saying that no error was made; the Gig was denied because that kind of "subject matter" isn't allowed. :rolleyes:

No problem. This could be a blessing in disguise.

Can't say I blame them much for wanting to keep their platform from being overrun with God knows how many "make money" type Gigs they get each day.

Anyway, just a "head up".

    Good to see they are cleaning up some of the crap on there. Hopefully this leaves a lot of the credible stuff on there. I stopped using Fiverr once it got overrun with rubbish 'make money online' stuff, but I will have to check it out again.

      I've always found Fiverr fairly easy to search - it is not that hard to filter out the stuff I don't want to see except for their quite short limits on the length of searches phrases.

      However, I agree that removing the "make money" stuff should improve Fiverr.

    I know for someone trying to be smart you want something turnkey like an ebook you can just send out however as a buyer to fiverr I hate having to sort thru all that type of stuff. I like the custom type things where someone performs a service or task just for me

      Exactly. I think Fiverr should just ban all 'pre-packaged' stuff like ebooks and digital goods. Instead, focus on services. That's what their slogan says anyway--"The world's largest marketplace for small services, starting at $5"

      Stick to services. Let the scrapers, scammers, and rippers find another place to pound.

        With a 600% growth in sales over the last year or so, absent of any hard data, I'd guess that pre-packaged goods have played a tremendous role in that growth.

        Also, for 14% of the segmented population of Fiverr members who were surveyed to be using Fiverr as their "Primary Income Source" -- I'd also guess that they must have some kind of *turnkey* system in place... a practical turnkey system where Gig delivery could only be optimized via the selling of pre-packaged goods.

        Otherwise, how else could someone be making over $1K a month considering the time constraints?

        By the way, to make $1K a month on Fiverr you have to do something like 250 Gigs @ $4 a pop (Fiverr takes $1 per Gig).

        I'm sure $1K can be done providing "services only". However, you may find that after you do some quick math and factor in Time and Effort -- you might be making less than minimum wage (US only folks )

        Anyway, I agree that junk pre-packaged stuff should go. Who should decide what "junk" is and how it's decided -- I dunno

        But I think if Fiverr got rid of all the pre-packaged Gigs altogether - then they might wind up hurting themselves financially.

          They should just ban all prepackaged stuff so there's no need to decide between good and bad stuff. The site should focus on services services services. Did I mention it should focus on services?

    Jaggy - I do about $2,000 a month on Fiverr and it's a spokesperson gig (not prepackaged). I've just perfected the process and it's super high quality and doesn't take me long to do. So if you can be innovative and efficient, services are well worth it.

      Innovation and efficiency would be key for accomplishing this I imagine; 2 things that I frequently "drop the ball" with. But I'm inspired!

      Anvilek - I disagree. I'm a top rated seller and in my opinion offer amazing professional quality...like many other fiverr sellers. There's junk for sure but lots of great quality also.

    fiverr stops blackhat activities books and crazy massive money earning books i have my own premium site before i lauch there i always offer them for (only a week ) for fiverrs ...but all go under internet marketers manuals... and they still accept them and i sell 4 5 copies per day try those keywords !

    This can only be a good thing, as it harms the experience for the buyer.

    Anyone who buys something like this and feels ripped off will spread the word far faster than all the other people who get great service.

    In terms of making money from the service, sell gigs that take you < 15 minutes to do, and make sure that you have the extras and a tip gig in place. Provide great service and make sure you put a link in the delivery process back to your homepage so that buyers can join your list.
