EMD Exact Match Domain redirect to affiliate link?

My apologies if this has been discussed before I couldnt find a definitive answer!

Im not across how Googles updates affect this but I believe redirects wont appear in Google searches as there's no content on the site?

My plan was send to exact search matches to an affiliate link, for example, a high search low comp keyword may be "best diet ever" so i'd register "bestdietever.com" and it sends the clicker to say an Atkins diet book

Is this still a relevant strategy?

I've given this question a lot of thought in the past, but still haven't decided the best answer myself.

If you are just going to advertise the domain name and hope people click on it and go to the affiliate product then it won't be a problem. I don't know if you plan on getting any "type in" traffic but it probably won't hurt.

The other side of the coin is: if you are going to advertise the domain name, why not build a site and try to capture the email address for a list, or show other products they might be interested in.

My current idea is to build a site idea and use the affiliate site as an exit pop-up when they try to leave.

Do you mean that the domain name is using redirect link to your affiliate link? If you mean it, this is not working for this time because Google devaluated the EMD since 1 month ago.

You need to write content that unique and good quality for the EMD and acquire high quality backlinks from high authority sites toward the EMD.

It works fine. The strategy relies on what is called "type-in traffic". You're not trying to rank the domain, obviously, but simply profiting from anyone directly typing in that domain name.

Depending on the domain it can be very profitable.

I know someone who did that, and his content-less domain got ranked anyway. Not sure if it's still there though.

Are you willing to buy alot of domains like that for each individual product? What is none produces sales for you? How much money will be lost per each domain that you buy?

In order to rank high for the keyword contained in an exact match domain you will have to build backlinks with the keyword as the anchor text.

Can I extend this discussion further and also ask aaaa33030 to elaborate if possible because I think that this could be a solution to my problem.!

My issue would be that im interested in ranking EMDs, as is the case with Steve, but instead i would be leasing them out locally. So...caravans-wales.co.uk for example could be ranked and sold to a local business of that nature in my area.

I was totally unaware before I found this thread that you could rank without content and just links however, so I would like to thank the original poster This leaves me with the question that I asked originally, if aaaa33030 thinks that this might work in my case? And would I just use a simple piece of redirect code to finish the job?

Thanks (you sneaky bunch of life savers!)

      One Love.
