I am not a big solo'er but I am curious to what a solo email click is worth on a ppc basis...

What is a good rate? What is the most you would pay per click from solo email? What is the most you would pay on a pay per open basis on solo email? Any merit to pay per open or pay per click model for solo emails instead of the one off rate... ie $300 bucks to solo blast my 2000 subscribers... etc.

Thoughts?

I've spend thousands on Solo Ads. The average seem to be about $0.30 per click and I average 37% optin rate from this kind of traffic. Some vendors are a bit more expensive but not surprisingly, I get higher opin rates from them.

I will pay more if the list is buyers as I have a sales funnel in place once I get an optin.

I won't pay for "opens", the vendor can put out a misleading subject line to get as many people as possible to open the mail.

I've also found that vendors tend not to use the swipes you send them, they change it to be as blind as possible to maximize clicks. For that reason your squeeze page copy also needs to be blind to a degree.

Put out packages of 150, 250, 350 etc unique clicks and price them at about $0.25 when you are starting out and get some testimonials, then move the price up a bit once you have some proof that you can deliver optins.

Would you pay per open if you could choose the subject line?

I am assuming I will not be changing creatives and I don't care about the subject line.
