Help: Technical glitch with Firefox bookmarks????

Hey there,

I really need your help....

Last week, my C drive got corrupted and I couldn't recover from my backup. so I've rebuilt my drive and I'm almost there in terms of getting everything back to normal....

However, Firefox has me stumped....

From a previous drive I was able to find a file with most of my Favourites/Bookmarks which I would like to access with Firefox.....

How the heck do I do this?

Your help is appreciated....

Regards

Greg

PS: Backup your PC right now.....I mean right now dammit!!!!

PPS: And then test that you can recover from the Backup.....go on what are you waiting for......

      Hey Jay,

      I'm OK and you.....

Thanks.....that pointed me in the right direction. The problem was that firstly, I was looking in the wrong place and secondly, I couldn't "see" the correct files because they were "hidden" by Windows......

I have my Bookmarks back......yip de dooh!!!!

Hey Jay....are you contactable on Skype?

      Regards

      Greg

PS: In case anyone wants to know how to do this, here is the details straight from Firefox support forum:

Firefox 3 stores its bookmarks in a file called places.sqlite in the profile folder. You can copy that file from the backup and place it in your current profile folder.

On Windows Vista the usual location for the profile folder is:
      C:\Users\<Windows login/user name>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx xxxxx.default\
xxxxxxxx is a string of random characters, the second half of that part of the folder name is normally .default but may be something else.

The Application Data folder is usually a hidden folder. To show hidden folders, open Windows Explorer and choose Organize > Folder and Search Options > Folder Options > View and select Show hidden files and folders
