Put a link in the video description and add an annotation telling them to click it.

Then judge by your % of CTR. That is the best I can think of.

I wouldnt buy views... its a sure fire fast track route to getting your account closed...

Too many people are looking for shortcuts to making money but the fact is there are not any shortcuts... The whole point of building a business is to build it from teh ground up on good solid foundations....

I am not really sure how you can track this easily because bots are just about everywhere and the metrics made it hard to tell if really you have human views. I would rather promote the product rather than pay for views to make sure.

I agree. It's good to get a little in the beginning to get things started but then you want your views to be natural.

I've tested this many of times and there's not even a significant increase in rank when you have bought 10k's of views even if they are "human". And they can be expensive.

The best way to go is to get your video optimized, and direct quality backlinks to get it ranked, then allow the views to come naturally.

Don't be intimidated by the videos up there that have 20k spam views, quality backlinks will win every time.

if the content is good enough and the video is linked enough and all is relevant enough. why would you need to fake (aka buy views) anything? spend time focusing on getting real views

Backlink the video from web 2.0s and other similar proprieties, embed it on your website, etc.

Use unique content and you'll see your video at the top.

Buying views, comments, likes etc won't harm your YouTube account...at least not now.
In the longer term they may change things.
The more views you have will certainly make your video rank higher, but it may not go above videos that have been there a long time. Just like domain age - video age seems to count for something also.

You only buy views to increase your video popularity and not for conversions, so it doesn't matter it is human or bots.

You may ignore those that prohibit buying views, but unfortunately I do not think there is a sure way to prove whether it is real or a robot views.

I heard that a video needs to be watched at least 3/4 way through for a view to count. Is that correct?

  Paid traffic can have its benefits.
  
  However, that is not the path I decided to go down in order to rank my videos to the number one slot on the first page of search results and capitalize on views.
  
  Instead, I focused on delivering UNIQUE content to a highly unsaturated market.
  
  Here Is A List of Steps That I Use.
  
  1. Generate a UNIQUE idea.
  
  2. Search for the idea on YouTube and see what comes up.
  
  3. If nothing, then I proceed to bring my idea to life and post it on YouTube.
  
  4. If there is already content created using my idea, I think about a way in which I can make my video better than the competition. (ex. Special editing, lighting, better audio/video quality, titles, subtitles, music, more information, giveaways, etc..) The list goes on and on but trust me, there are MANY ways!
  
  5. I take time with my video and I do not upload it until I am sure that I have delivered my best work.
  
  6. When it is time to insert tags, I go crazy, but not too crazy. I only add tags that are RELEVANT to my video.
  
  7. I insert my main keywords in the title, description, and tags, but I DO NOT spam them.
  
  8. Once my video is up and running, I watch similar videos and comment on them referring them and their viewers to my channel. (there is a right and wrong way to do this) The wrong way would be to just write a basic message begging people to visit your channel. While this could work, it would be much better if you took the time to write a positive comment relating to their video. Say something you liked about it and offer them a "thumbs up" before encouraging them to check out your video. More people will be interested in visiting your channel if you do it this way.
  
  9. I also be sure to reply to comments when I can and I include a link to my FaceBook and Twitter profiles in the description and in the annotations of my videos.
  
  I could go on and on, but this is pretty much the basics of what has worked for me and how I consistently get views.

Are you buying those views from YouTube directly?

For some reason it does not seem that way. It looks to me that you are buying it from someone private who likes to rip people off.

I would not waste your money and time. I would rather pay YouTube directly to get my videos on their "search" engine so to speak. They have a paid media there where you can pay per view or per click. I am not really sure.

Don't pay for views. You're better off spending that money buying groceries for the week. I know you want to look "popular", but if it doesn't make money, you will be popular down at the Pizza Hut making $7.25/hour - cause you had to close down shop with your internet business.
