Redirecting from Squeeze Page to OTO

Hello Warriors,

Here's something that has been confusing me for a while about squeeze pages and OTOs. It seems that the prospect only gets forwarded to your OTO page if they opt-in, as you set the OTO page as the 'thank you' page in your email autoresponder. But let's say you have a good 40% opt-in rate, then the 60% who do not opt-in are also not seeing your OTO offer. Who knows, they may have bought. It seems to me like throwing good traffic away.

Is there any way to get ALL of the people you drive to a squeeze page (via solo ads or other paid traffic) to see your OTO, regardless of whether they opted in? I've read something about exit redirects but I'm not sure how to use them as I already have an exit pop-up.

Cheers,

JB

There are several exit redirect plug ins for Word Press.

It depends on the company that has your squeeze pages. If there is a popup there's probably a spot to put a link in that the pop up sends you to. They should see a page of yours in the background.

You can use ExitSplash if you want the squeeze page to be displayed when they click away from your main squeeze page.

you can use an exit pop up

another way you can test is to send all traffic to your sales page and anyone that does not
buy will of course try leaving the page and then you can show them your squeeze page
after by using an exit pop up

This is back to front so you still make money on the front end and still build your list

There are a ton of tools for this and even more strategies. I think every campaign/offer deserves it's own flow, framework and model. We use optimizepress, which handles funnels, OTO's and downsells well. I'm personally not a fan of exit pops but it seems that they've proven to work...

    Either way, best of luck

I'm going to echo a few here - I've had most success with exit popups. But, you should remember that you can't overload a squeeze page or you'll drive visitors away.

The whole point of the OTO is offer an 'upsell'. If they haven't opted into your first offer, your OTO isn't really an upsell. That's why OTO's work so well, because someone has already expressed interest in your offer and now you're offering them just a little bit more, something that expands on what you have just given them.

With that said, exit popups can work pretty well. But, they aren't the same as an OTO, just approach them with that in mind. With an exit offer, you're really 'downselling' someone. So, you need to offer more value for less input from them.

You might have a free report offer with a $17 OTO. Don't expect someone who turns down a free offer to suddenly have a change of heart and jump at a $17 exit popup offer. Instead, you'll have to do something like offer them a bigger free report or maybe an email course, since they do even less work to receive that (no downloading).

Did a quick Google search - Free Exit Pop Up WordPress Plugin - can't speak for it, but E. Brian Rose suggests it, so that might mean something.

In the long run you need to get your squeeze converting well above 40%.

You really need to relate every aspect of the campaign. Hyper target your offer to the traffic coming to it. Make the offer so relative to the desire of the traffic that they will have remorse if they accidentally click off the page.

This may mean thinking beyond a PLR e-book.

Not only does the free offer relate to the traffic but it must relate to the OTO and the back end product you are hoping to sell. If you relate everything as much as possible, those that click away are not your target audience and you didn't need them sucking up autoresponder resources.

    Hi there everyone,

Thanks so much for your input so quickly. It's much appreciated!

To clarify, my front end funnel is like this:

Squeeze (free pdf that I wrote myself) - > OTO (one time offer to recoup paid traffic costs)

I wanted all my visitors to see my OTO whether they opt-in or not. However since I am using an exit pop-up for the squeeze page (with the opt-in form again), I would have to redirect them to the OTO page *after* the exit pop-up has run and of course only if they close that without signing up. Is that even possible/recommended? I just don't want to waste valuable visitors.

Of course those visitors who opt-in (either by original squeeze page or exit pop-up) will be redirected anyway to the OTO. But my issue is with the rest of the visitors -- can I redirect them too (bearing in mind I'm already using an exit pop-up squeeze plugin)?

    Cheers,

    JB
