Is my flippa listing in breach of copyright

Hi All

I need some insight. I don't have a lot of experience "flipping sites" so, I'm curious to know how others go about promoting their flippa listings to attract more attention.like the big flippa sellers and is my listing in breach of copyright as the domain is similar to flippa.com

I'm currently selling this site:https://flippa.com/2844857-flippta-c...ial-no-reserve

Any help would be appreciated.

thx paul

Is this a site like flippa but the domain is something else? I could only tell by the comments what was going on.

You should be allowed to sell a site like flippa as long as you are not infringing on their name. I do not know why it says flippa.com in your listing though are you trying to let people know make as much as flippa does? I don't think they will like that if they see it they will balk. But you could get away with it too.

Is there a way to get that off if you really want to sell this you'd be better of without reference to them by using their name.

Let me know if I'm completely wrong but I couldn't look at the site for some reason.

I wouldn't buy it ... not only for the name but sites that have just been created and have no traffic or revenue and advertise "50K a month potential" are crapola.

Just giving my opinion. The name is an obvious ripoff of the Flippa trademark. That's an immediate turnoff. The site has nothing going for it. Just built it this month and advertising $5K potential with nothing to back that up is less than honest. Crapola is the formal version of crap.

I know i was joking, ive seen a lot worse sites on flippa sell for a few hundred dollars , with no adsense , analytics and revenue at least i have put some effort into making it look individual

well most big sites take down any name that is in any way even "Like" their name altho there are quite a few missspelled domains out there pertaining to million dollar businesses. If they can prove you did this on purpose you probably are at risk IMHO i really don't know for certain if you will get away with this or not.

At least the Flippa reps never come to the WF.

Is this a joke or sarcasm? Can't tell. But Flippa reps are quite active here and I'm sure this thread has been noted.

I just don't think I would come on the WF and put the spotlight on a site that is basically counting on using a misspelling to draw comparison with the Flippa trademark. That site being on a Flippa auction.

I wouldn't either but I've seen those Flippa clones with Flippa like domains listed quite a few times on Flippa. I guess they suppose that a Flippa like name will result in Flippa like success, but that's just smoke and mirrors. It would take a huge amount of money and time to get one of those clones to be competitive in that market no matter what their domain is.

It sure would be bad for someone to really work the site, get it to making a profit and then have Flippa send a take down notice.. Just so many ways to make money online without having to worry with going to court.

Funny thing is, Flippa has a fairly new policy on selling domains/sites that violate trademarks. I personally feel this domain qualifies as a violation if it were taken to court or a UDRP were filed.

So lets just say this wasn't too hot of an idea or maybe I really didn't even need to say that.

Trying to take on flippa by creating a rip off of an already established business is like trying to created a new social platform to do battle with facebook.

Sure go ahead, but you better have deeper pockets than the current owners, AND bring something unique to the table that they already don't.
