Bags of Hops But not much Cash?

Hi everyone, this is my first ever post so please be gentle! I wonder if I could ask for a little advice? I've been dabbling with IM for a year or so now, mostly when I'm not too busy at work.

During one of my concerted efforts at the very beginning I made a number of targetted Squidoo lenses, hubpages and eZine articles and directed them all at one product on Clickbank. So far, I've had 2,198 hops which have equated to just $120 in sales (3 total). I'm guessing that's not great.

So I was wondering if it's me (my traffic is pretty targetted) or the product (which seems ok?)

Thanks so much in advance, any advice is appreciated.

I don't think that is too bad personally from articles and squidoo. Just create a load more of them you are obviously doing something right buddy.

Thank you Leigh31 - much appreciated. It's just when I Googled it (I know - first mistake!) people seemed to be making $3 or so a hop and getting a far better conversion rate... still, at least I'm getting the traffic I guess so it's a worthy experiment ;-)

Might I ask what you'd suggest in addition to squidoo and articles?

      Thanks again

That´s 0.14 % of conversion rate. It is crappy. The landing page is a squeeze or a sales page?

Hi Sandra, my links go straight through to the vendors site... Clickbank tells me it's 6c a hop, better than nothing I guess! Just seems a shame I can get the traffic there but no-one wants to buy!

Yes, I got that. The vendor page is a sales page or a squeeze?

    Hey!

That's a decent amount of traffic, so I'd consider your sales page...

Make 2 and test them for best converting one.

    Llwyddiant!

Actually it is great, in a sense. To be able to sell a ClickBank product at all, by direct-linking, is a little against the odds.

It's probably not about that, at all.

It's simply that ClickBank products don't really sell that way.

I thought at first, from your title, that you must be in the home-brewing niche!

Ah, ok, sorry Sandra, I've googled the definitions (forgive my ignorance) and I guess it's a sales page but with the ability to sign up to a newsletter on it...?

That's what we call in the trade a "leaky sales page".

      Serious, pro-affiliates don't touch those.

This post will help you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post2161932

And when you have more reading-time available, this whole thread will help you (but it needs a slow, careful read because there's just a very little bit of garbage in there, too, among the pearls): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...oduct-opt.html

Please appreciate that I'm not suggesting that the fact that you're promoting a product with a leaky sales-page is necessarily the reason you have hardly any sales: it seems pretty clear that the main reason for that is the fact that you're direct-linking rather than building a list. If you're direct-linking, it's usually kind of "academic" what the sales page is like.

There is where your hops are leaking. The newsletter. Depending on what the vendor does, you can or not receive commission for the sale to his list.

EDIT: ahh we were posting at the same time.
