Symbols In Classified Ad Title

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has tried using symbols in classified ad title in order to stand out. Does it work? I've been using this tactic for a month now with really the same results as without them. Has anyone seen different. Please discuss.

Thanks

Standing out in a classified ad is like standing out in a dating ad.

People in general are attracted to titles that are funny, disgusting or outrageous.

I tried a headline on OkCupid (or it could have been PoF) that said "My Headline Kicks Your Headlines Ass" and it got a better response than the majority of what people put such as "Nice Guy Looking For blahblahblah".

Classifieds get flooded fast and the ads is often gone far before the day is over so it's important to create an eye-catching title that will not only give people a basic idea of what they're selling but it'll make them think. Don't be afraid to be controversial to get attention with your title either.

They work on ebay... dont know about classified ad sites. Maybe it does on Craigslist if you're selling a physical product.

Yes, they work on classified ad sites.....for now. They will reach a saturation point soon and become useless, but for now they still work.

Classified sites and pay per click companies don't allow this.

I don't think that this is a great strategy.

People are attracted to your ads by your title and not by your graphics or symbols.

I read the question and I though it will be good for people to know how to use it, if they didn't know. Click on alt and press 3 for example. It gives you a ♥ or click on alt and 4 ♦ and so on... ♣ ♠ • ... It works with the number-pad, don't use the top numbers.
