Starting A Business Or Brand? Check Social Media Sites For Username Availability

Hey guys, alot of you probably already know about this but I found this yesterday and thought it was a useful tool. When starting a business or brand ideally you want all your branding to be the same ie you want your youtube name to be doodlehead, your twitter @doodlehead, etc. It's not as good to have twitter be doodlehead123, blogger be doodlehead12, etc.

Anyhow, I just stumbled on some sites where you can check usernames almost all social media sites all at once so you save yourself the trouble of setting up 3 accounts with social media serivces just to realize you cant get your name on a key platform like twitter or youtube or something like that.

I played around with several sites yesterday and my favorite has to be namechk.com however a quick google search for social media username check or availability should pull up a ton more options as well.

One other tip. One thing I found is there's a handful of sites such as tumbr and stumbleupon that seem to always say your username is taken no matter what it is so check those manually dont rely on this checker tool to do so b/c it will tell you its not available even if it is.
