Default Best tool for creating a PDF Form?

Hello Warriors,

I need to create a pdf that allows the viewer to fill in the blanks and print. Any suggestions on a good, low cost tool? I appreciate recommendations you've actually tried. Thanks!

Jody

Need a great way to track your off site or outsourced employees?? No need to pay oDesk 10% fees anymore! Screen shots every 10 minutes. Keep track of one or 100's, assign work, track schedules in real-time, project management, run payroll and much more!

LOL, I need exactly the same thing right now! Let's hope someone knows the answer!

I need them to be able to email it to me as well.

Didn't know that's possible but that would work better for me if they could email it back also.

If you have Adobe professional you can create form fields that people can fill in. You can define the content or autofill them. I'm not sure if you can do it with word then convert it using Office.net. I've used the Adobe Professional a number of times and it works great.

mmm.. Looks like the information submitted through a pdf form goes through their servers. Wouldn't work for credit card info. Might work for just creating the form for filling and printing.

Yes, that's correct. Most of the form that been create is only for filling and printing. Did anyone already create a form that after form filled up we can save the form?

Go Here: CutePDF - Create PDF for free, Free PDF Utilities, Edit PDF easily;.
and download the Writer and the Converter. Go to your Word doc and select print. The Cute Writer will show up as an option on your printer menu. It works through your printer menu and instead of printing through your printer on paper, it generates a pdf that shows up on your screen. You can then save the pdf file to use on your site or wherever.

Its free and it works great. Just used it today. Hope this helps.

If a credit card info should be submitted by the user/ reader then I would prefer a secure online connection than a pdf since the information will be submitted as a email / unsecure online connections.

Well I bought CutePDF and it has a very annoying limitation, I must say. When you type in text then switch to Form view so you can drop in a form field, you can't see the text so placing the form field in the correct spot (relevant to the text) is a complete guessing game. The only way to see both at the same time is to first make the text placement "permanent". Once you do that, you can never edit or delete the text block again. Permanent really means permanent. So if you see a typo, there's no way to undo it. And if you didn't keep a backup copy of your pdf from before you made the text permanent, you have to start over from nothing to correct the problem!

I contacted their support and they said that's just the way it is. Man for a pdf program, that to me is a major limitation for what should be a pretty basic function these days. I just don't understand how anyone who needs to use form fields can recommend this program. I'm probably going to have to get my money back.

If anyone can recommend a better program than this one, I'm all ears.

Jody
