Freebie: Increase Optin Rate by Adding Red to Green Submit Button

I confess I am a lurker here on the WF. I have learned so much and guys like Andy have given this forum their best. I for one am a grateful student of this business called Internet Marketing.

I am a do-it-yourselfer which is why going into my own business has always appealed to me and using the Internet lets me stay at home. I have learned so much by watching and reading and picking things apart.

One thing that I always wanted to do that I thought was too tough for a non techie like me, was that nifty Submit button that turns from red border to green when you hover your mouse over it. See the one on my site: http://thehinessite.com/blog

Long story short... I found the code (thanks to the Conversion Doctor!) and figured it out. Now, it may not be a big deal to you but it was for me! Sso, I decided to write out how I did it in a short report and make it available to anyone who might like to do the same!

You can download it here: http://thehinessite.com/blog/redgreensubmitbutton.pdf

Give it a go! Tell me if I could make it more understandable. You techies, please show me where I might make it better.

Otherwise, it is my gift back to a fine group of people that I am glad to be part of!

Thank you so much. This is such a great tip. However, my optin page on my wordpress that's in my sidebar has javascript aweber script.

How do you add the code to the aweber submit button that has javascript code on the page?

Doesn't seem to work in Firefox, at least not for me. Works in IE.

Jeslasco: It's a new technique I am trying. But the Conversion Doctor says he got increases of over 40%. He recommends you try different colors and sizes too. Take a look at his site that I mention in the report.

Tommy P: All I can say is that it worked on both sites I tried it on with a little tweaking. and it worked in Firefox and IE, too.

Since I am not a tech, I can't tell you why it doesn't work in Firefox for you.

pk80356: The Aweber java script doesn't work for this technique. You have to use the big block of code that they supply.

I did a little digging and found other sites that have a red/green button also use the block of Aweber code and not the Javascript.

Hope this helps and thanks again for trying it out!
