Are people changing their browsing habits?

A few months ago a facebook spammer came to my attention. I call the facebook page a spammer because all they do is copy other people content, repost it on their facebook page, and then a link to the spammers blogger page.

All the person is posting is images stolen from other sites. There is no original content on either the facebook or blogger page.

What amazes me is the amount of traffic and facebook likes this person was about to build with nothing more then stolen images.

I know the images are stolen, because they are using one of my images without my permission.

On the flipside of the coin, I spend hours creating original articles, videos and take my own pictures for my blog, and I get very little traffic to my blog.

Changing from articles to images

It seems to me that a lot of people are no longer interested in reading articles or watching videos. They would rather spend a couple of seconds looking at a picture, then move to the next image.

This shifting from articles and videos to images seems to present the reader with a sense of instant gratification.

Does "instant gratification" help explain why sites like pinterest and instagram are so popular?

How many new internet users are opening blogs, as compared to facebook pages and pinterest accounts?

Should site owners change to an image based site?

I think its part of human nature to look for instant gratification.

As a result of that, should bloggers and marketers reduce the number of videos and articles, and focus more on images?

    I dont know,

But I would assume it depends what kind of person you are talking about. Facebook is all about looking at pics, most of the activity on there is pretty low level and mostly of little value, so its more likely that those people browsing fb are more in the instant gratification mindset.

However if someone is searching for a solution to a problem, or some specific info, then they are unlikely to find a pic of a cat pulling a funny face very appealing, so to speak
