My 18 year Old Son Showed Me How to Make $100 a day WITHOUT a site!!!

Sounds like a hyped sales message right?

Okay my son is studying and needed some extra cash. Knowing I am a full time marketer he used tips he picked up from me ... so here is my sons $100 a day formula without a site

- Open a YouTube Account
- Pick a niche
- Create ORIGINAL videos using Windows Movie Maker
- Your videos can either be product reviews for affiliate products or some other attention grabbing content
- Make it QUIRKY - people like quirky videos more than mono-tone in your bedroom looking beige boring vidz
- Have a half decent script ... your script needs a clear call to action at the end
- Write a REALLY good description using 5000 characters max.
- Make sure your cloaked affiliate link is at the top of your description with a call to action
- For a little extra cash include Adsense (he gets $2-4 a day from this)

His best day is just over $100 ... some days he makes $40 - $50. The main point is that his income is growing.

Enjoy

    Thanks for sharing.

Though if you send to an affiliate page straight then it won't take long for you to be banned from YouTube.

He makes that per day consistently? How long has his video been up?

That's so awesome....It's great that your son is already developing entrepreneurial habits that will last a lifetime....YouTube affiliate promotion is still one of the fastest ways to make cash so encourage him to make more....Your only cost is time

WOW Your son makes more than half of people here in the forum, I guess.

    Good for him.

but what do you mean exactly by "Quirky"?

I would venture to guess that it is a lot more than 50%. More like 90-95%.

Your trying to tell me that 95% of this forum make less than $100/$100 per day?

If this is the case I truly am shocked.

I would definitely agree with that figure.

That is, less than $100 per day from IM. I am not inferring they make less than $100 per day all up.

You really think so Will? I am not sure what Minimum wage is now but that has got to be close to it. I would have guessed less than 50% but all it would be is a guess.

Troy, remember I said from IM so I'm not saying people don't have jobs outside of Internet Marketing to supplement their income but I'm talking about IM income only.

If you look at the current member count of this forum it is well over 580,000 members.

Do you think over 290,000 of those members (50%) would be making over $100 from IM per day. I really don't think that would be an accurate guess.

If we use the other guess of saying only 5% of members would be making that much money, that means approximately 29,000 members. I think that would be much closer to the reality of things.

But again, it's just a guess...

                LOL

Some say that only the Top 1% make "a living" doing Internet Marketing.

                1% of 580,000 = 5,800

I am thrilled to be in the Top 1% and to be making a nice living, but I'd be happier to bump my income from comfortable to filthy stinking rich.

I had a punt at youtube, haven't made anything with it yet.

I followed a pretty simple formula on here...

                  Pick a good CB product
Make a decent video, seo friendly
                  Buy some views, likes etc...
                  Buy some links (social media)

I made 3, they've been knocking around page 1 - 3... just checked one is now serp 4... but still no conversions.

There's a lot of factors to get right... he must be choosing some very good offers, and making some great videos.

And ye, it's important to include a good description with your video.

Few quick questions I hope you can answer

                  Does he pay for views/links?

                  Does he have multiple channels?

                Will,

When you break the numbers down I would bet your guess is a lot closer than mine. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in my little marketing circle I miss the big picture.

          I'd also agree.

Especially being apart of courses where people are spending $200/mo rarely does anyone ever take any action.

They pretend to take action, yet just sit on their computer looking for the next big thing.

Tip: There is no next big thing, there's just now.. if you focus on now, you'll be fine.

I'd also like to mention that there's two types of ACTION that people take:

            1. The kind that gets results

            2. The kind that does not get results

Sounds simple but it's not that easy to decipher when you're going through the motions.

The intelligent actions are the one's you want to attempt.

              Absolutely!

              Great response Phil

This could easily be concluded as "Take smarter action".

              And I agree wholeheartedly.

There are those action takers that keep taking the wrong action. If you aren't seeing results instantly though, that doesn't mean give up.

I remember first joining this forum, I posted a few times and didn't think it would be worthwhile, since then I've built so many great friendships and partnerships. If I gave up in the beginning, I wouldn't have had those same opportunities.

Producing good video content can be a whole lot of work, but if you have the knack for it, there is definitely opportunity there. If he gets too popular, there's a chance that youtube will crack down on those affiliate links, but at that point he may be able to attract sponsors.

By "quirky" I'm assuming he means creativity or thinking with the right side of your brain (for anyone who studies brain hemispheres lol).

I'm going to write a book on all the people who have gotten rich in this world using 1 simple formula. Empathy + creativity = money.

No matter how I look at life, most people who make money or get rich, have always seemed to master those 2 things.

We have a formula at my grad program for that: Creativity equals the function of an attitude multiplied by knowledge, imagination, and evaluation

      C = fa(k,i,e)

You can easily create a free blog, and direct the traffic there. Just create it with a very minimalistic design, with a strong call to action pointing directly to the affiliate page. Let the product page sell itself, you don't want to confuse and overbear the viewers with two different sets of copy, and desgin.

It might not be the same as generating a steady flow of income from simply creating videos, but the amount of time used to set this is up is nil to none. You can create a free blog, design and fill it out with your CTA and links in a matter of minutes. You can even include an e-mail optin box to slowly grow a list that you can use to send out other affilate offers.

That's a very good topic to bring up RedShifted, important for our financial lives as well as our true selves. We were all once experiencing things in that way a very long time ago, it is our true nature. But then again... that's what separates the philosophy behind business from living and surviving in a healthier manner. :p

If you've noticed, in the general business world, every single successful new business and venture is extremely eclectic, and caters to our deeper selves. True emotion and expression. It caters to the modern new age people who are coming into the mainstream spotlight of marketing as well.

A theory is a theory because it actually is a guess or an assumption rather than a fact.

Unfortunately this is just one of those things you need to enjoy whilst it lasts because as some people have already highlighted, YT are clamping down on videos which are produced with the sole intention of promoting affiliate links in descriptions.

Rules are getting much, much tighter everywhere.

We can all see why though, right?

It's because of those danged spammers. The ones who toss up 30 or 40 videos with affiliate links in them, but no real purpose.

Things need to have a purpose to belong, not just marketing constantly. It ruins things and makes people uncomfortable.

That's why Craigslist was doing so well, instead of going to a dealership and dealing with someone who just wanted commission off of you, you can purchase a car (and haggle down) from real people who just want to sell their car and that's it. Of course there will always be a pushy person here or there, but with my experience, most people just want what they ask and are likely to take a bit less, whilst at a dealership, they could mark the car up as high as they want if they know you have the money.

Starting a free blog is an excellent place to redirect your traffic to. Just make sure you create your own blog as soon as possible. If you can avoid the free blog and start your own, that would be the better solution. As WebSeeds said, let the product/information page close the sale. No use letting such a good idea and formula go to waste cause YouTube found out you linked directly to an affiliate and penalizes your son for it. :-0)

Oh, and don't forget to optimize your blog or web site and make sure people have a way to keep up with your son as well. For instance, his FaceBook page or fan page, his Twitter, Pinterest, email, etc. and don't forget to collect their emails either. Staying connected to those who like your products or web site shows you care about what you sale your customers and what there needs are. :-0)

Some of the most beautiful brainstorming I've ever done, was when I was like 16 years old.

Youth and inexperience is your ally.

When you get older, you're programmed to "Obey"

I'm 19 years old and YouTube is actually how I got interested in Internet Marketing! The ability to make content so easily accessible to others and gain almost instant feedback amazed me.

I now use YouTube and video to provide free value to my followers and although I don't think directly promoting affiliate links is a good long term strategy, I direct viewers to my site where I have affiliate ads.

I use to do a lot of youtube videos but slowly went down hill. Especially, when I was banned from adsense. Kinda felt like I failed. I am thinking of getting back into youtube videos. Just dont know how successful I can be on it without adsense.

    Enjoy

    Hi Bernardr,

Your son is very lucky! When I was in that age, I was struggling on how to make money online since I have already a family Anyway, I still earn enough money by learning it by myself and help from some of my friends here in WF.

    Hi its me again.

I have scanned the huge amount of replies and thought I would drop in a little response.

I agree with the comment that a lot of people on this forum are not making as much money as they could ... simply because they don't focus, they rush and also get sucked in by the get rich quick hype. I know this because several years ago I was that person.

At the time I think my mindset was completely wrong. I genuinley beleived that you could throw up a squeeze page add a cr%ppy offer and start earning big bucks. HOW WRONG IT WAS!!!

The truth about IM is that it is real work and a real business. Once you get established it does get easier though ... especially if you find you niche.

For example I make the majority of my money looking after IM for local businesses earning around $10,000 per month ... I love it!!!

A couple of people have asked for a link to my son's channel. As if I am going to put that up ... please get real

I also notice a couple of doubters ... So in that case I challenge you to try it out.

He gets regular small commissions of $24, $37 and $68 .. across a few products.
His links are cloaked and I do suspect that unless he moves his links to something like a blog he will eventually get banned which I have told him

I am not too old to learn new tricks and have observed that my son's generation has a different ability with Social Media sites to generate traffic and likes. For example if he posts on his Facebook account he immediately gets a ton of response.

I think that part of his secret sauce is the way he comes across. He is not really trying to sell like a seasoned IM'er (not sure he can). His whole pitch is more around his personality, is great fun and it works. He seems to strike a chord with the viewers ... I guess they trust him.

What I can tell you is that I now use YouTube a lot more myself and find it a great source of traffic.

Sadly, it's just a matter of time before his account his closed. My account was
closed and I wasn't even putting links in my videos. Just the fact that I was
an Internet marketer teaching "how to make money" stuff on Youtube was
enough to get me shut down.

Folks, don't do this. Certainly don't put a lot of time and money into video
production because it's all going to be for nothing when your account and all
      your videos are gone.

      Don't say I didn't warn you. I did.

I think it depends on what kind of advice one is giving Steve.

Marie Forleo has what is considered to be one of the most awesome channels on YouTube, granted she doesn't do affiliate links; but all she is doing is giving advice.

        MarieTV - YouTube

But as an affiliate, you may be right. I don't know this for certain, but if all it is about is blogging with no real underlying business; there could be limits to what a person can do.

        Hey Steven,

While I understand the situation you were put in, I wouldn't tell people to not put a lot of time into it, especially because you can easily save the videos to your own service, amazon aws account, dropbox, upload them to vimeo pro, and many other places.

I think the correct way to phrase this is to instead, focus on creating videos for your own site and host them there, versus directly on YouTube

Steven is right, and only this time.

I have some people I personally know online and they had 100's of videos on YouTube. That was their main source of lead generation.

One day, some "nothing to do" YouTube people shut their accounts down and they lost everything that it took them some months and years to build.

I had one single video that got me like 30-50 visitors per day and they shut it down too.

The one thing you all need to know is that you have to DIVERSIFY your traffic sources no matter what.

In the cases that I've seen (I am partnered with about 8 youtubers all with over 20,000 subs and 2 with over 100,000 subs) they only remove or ban accounts that deserve it.

We see videos and accounts banned all the time, but for good reason.

If someone is spamming YouTube with the same videos over and over, junk videos (like animoto slideshows), single text videos that simply stay on one slide and do nothing, stolen content, copyrighted music, or other techniques that are shady/affiliate dedicated it's not uncommon to see them delete the videos and even ban the accounts, but that's for good reason.

In RARE instances, I have however seen people who did everything by the books and they were banned. But when it comes down to it, like we all know, don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Place your eggs evenly throughout and you'll be safe when one egg breaks

You don't really have to apply any more to be a YouTube partner.

Most accounts give you the option of monetizing your videos.

It is in conflict with putting affiliate links in your description, but you can get around that by pushing people to your site audibly.

His intention is to milk as long as he can and to develop the model in a way that does not get him banned but also maximises the number of views of his videos.

He does not even know what Camtasia is and too be honest I am a little hesitant to give him any advice in case I mess it up for him.

It seems his naive approach seems to work ... don't want to break it!

I remember reading about the guy who makes Adsense sites on here, and people would tell him that if he could get all of that traffic that he could monetize it better.

His answer to them was that, if he stopped what he was doing to add other aspects to his business model that it would distract him from making money with Adsense. At this point, if your kid is successful and he is developing an audience, I would say to let it ride.

You cannot put a price tag on having your kid interested enough in what you do, to do it also. It speaks volumes about your influence on him. In a world where parents spend money and time trying to understand their kid's world, your kid is making money trying to understand yours. In the big picture, you are doing some good things right.

      Bravo!

Great share and very doable, I believe it's a good way to start, but people should keep in mind to NEVER, ever upload copyrighted stuff and add videos regularly.

I agree that video is the easiest way to be everywhere on the net, making money online.

I think although new internet entrepreneurs are starting out each day, interest in making money online through video still forms a minority right now but of course it is becoming known to new individuals daily.
