Hey, I've noticed some people have a hard time choosing a domain so here are a few tips that'll help you when facing that important task of choosing a good domain name.

Keeping your domain and website name the same

Let's talk about the importantance of keeping it simple. You want people to be able to think of your site with easy so if a person visits your page and isn't ready to sign up but later decides I'm ready now but what was that url? and then the page name hits them and it's the same name as your url, Boom! Just like that you have a reoccurring visitor.

Don't you get fancy on me

Can I stress it enough keep it simple. You want people to remember this address. I promise there is no trophy for who can come up with the most clever or pack more words into a url. Just jot down keep facts from your site and sum up what you're site's about and make it your url.

Dot Com Dot Net or Dot Org

I'm a good old fashion believer of if you can get traffic there it doesn't matter but for the sake of returning visitors it's just universally easier to remember dot com. So in my opinion if it's not just detrimental to the site's success play it safe and go with dot com.

Hope this information serves you well
Good luck

    Thanks for the tips Tim!

Funnily enough one of my sites actually has a .tv domain name believe it or not, and is doing quite well! Mainly because I'm not relying on SEO to drive traffic to my site though.

nice tips. i would stick to .com though, mainly because people tend to type that by default if they know the name of the site, not domain.

I can agree on the "dont get fancy" part. I've had totally ridiculous URLs in the past that sounded irregular and didn't score points for the people who visited my sites. I know better now though.

but that's what it's all about. Making some mistakes and learning from them so you know how not to make the same mistakes going forward.

The domain of a website tells a lot about the company, the website and the people marketing it. A user friendly website will have more credibility and hence, attract more visitors.

The domain name should definitely be easy to remember and it's surely a representative of the site and the product you're promoting.
