List Building 'Mental Block'

Hey Warriors,

So I am coming out with a product soon (woo hoo) and I will have the setup...

Optin ==> Free report (with links to product) ==> Follow up (with links to product)

With that, I keep finding myself saying ...

"Well I can't further build my list until I have all of those steps complete"

Definitely not a great mind set to have, especially for the fact that I am not doing anything to build my list.

Any recommendations until I get my report / product finished?

Get your free report finished ASAP.

Then on your thank you page if you really need to put an affiliate offer.

Personally I would set up the funnel and get that list going.

IF you wait for everything to be perfect then you will NEVER get going...

    Regards

    Chris

Make sure to have the freebie done first. Just start offering some content and some possible affiliate promotions. Do a broadcast when the product is finally done and let them know of the finished product.

Pushing an unfinished product in your free report is not best at this time...

      James,

I would suggest that you set everything up before you take the leap into marketing your business online.

Make sure that your auto-responder is working properly. Add as much emails as you want and make sure that everything is in place. Look at your links if they are working properly and if you emails are being sent out.

You seem like you want to get out there running fast but before you do that, make sure that you set everything up so that in the future, your only job is to drive traffic.

You don't want people to email you saying that your links don't work or that your opt in page does not work.

You can build your squeeze page first, and find a PLR report as a gift to give away, or compile some pages from your not-finished e-book.

Then you can continue to finish your e-book.

About the follow up messages, you can prepare some niche related articles, and they will help you build trust.

    Hey James,

I'd say don't complicate things too much.

You're all set. All you need to do is create your squeeze page and bear down and get your product done.

One other thing. You may consider finding a relevant and valuable paid product to offer as an OTO.. something you've already bought yourself and see as complementary.

A couple sales of that will offset the WSO fees etc, and if its really good, will make you money as you build your list.

I would suggest to split test your squeee page. In my experience, it’s a very good idea to split test your squeeze in order to understand which one converts the best for you. OTO also is a good idea if it compliment your free offer

Take it one SMALL step at a time.

Then add each piece to your list building system in time
      as you complete them.

Don't think about the complex stuff until you've actually
      done the basics first.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

        Thanks for the insight everyone.

This is a process I have gone through many times (report, optin, followups)

I had my end goal in mind of tying everything into my product had me working backwards.

The report will be done by Sunday, then I will go from there

Finish your free report ASAP or buy a PLR pack. Set up your squeeze page and download/thank-you page. Put a banner and some copy on your thank you page recommending and linking to the product.

Make sure you have an email follow up sequence that builds a relationship and also drives traffic to your affiliate offer.
