Weebly websites? Help me decide please!

Hello all, I just found Warrior Forum and I'm hooked! I am thinking of purchasing websites through Weebly and just wanted to know your thoughts on this company. I don't want to make any more mistakes in the IM business. My budget is small and I need to get an impressive website and squeeze page up and running. I would appreciate any help.

You would probably be better off getting a host of your own with Fantastico (hawkhost is super cheap), buying a domain, and installing word press.

      That's good advice.

I just read a good article about Fantastico. It is easy to learn and easy to use and most web hosting companies offer it along with cPanel so you're getting extreme time saving value.

Thanks Brian, There seems to be many ways to get a good site up and running, yet most of this information is sort of underground. I am currently with Brain host but will give hawk host a look. Thanks for the help.

I also recommend HawkHost. Been using them for several month now with no problems.

Instead of going through Weebly go through Google. What you do is set up a free blog on Blogger.com. Then you upgrade to your own domain for only $10 a year.

You said you're just starting out. This is the cheapest way I know how to get a site!

Don't pay $8 a month or anything like that. With Google you get your domain and hosting for only $10 a year. You can't beat that :-)

Wow, didn't know about Google. Sounds like a sweet deal. I will check it out and try to figure out everything. Thanks a lot.

you can also buy a domain with godaddy..look for a discount code online and get a domain For like 7 bucks which you can apply to blogger...so its even cheaper than the 10 bucks..ive done this a few times already..plus it beats paying monthly for hosting!

I've been using "Weebly Pro" for 4 years. I like it, enjoy it, and recommend it. I've been struggling for years to understand why it isn't more popular. My suspicion is that many people who do like to use self-hosted Wordpress blogs don't quite appreciate the flexibility and ease of use of hosts like Weebly, and feel that others "should" use Wordpress and should "therefore" be discouraged from using Weebly.

It isn't my main host at all (I use TypePad, Hostgator and HeartInternet), but I think Weebly's an underrated and good host. I particularly like the built-in site-builder, which is really easy to use. It's useless for anyone wanting to host their own Wordpress blogs, of course. But I'm not a Wordpress user.

I urge you never to register a domain-name through your host. Register in one place and host in another. Doing both in one place can be a hugely important mistake to avoid. Explained in detail here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7030015

I also urge you not to use "Blogger", which countless Warriors have found to be a dreadful (sometimes even a disastrous) mistake.

See what a few of them say, for yourself: hundreds of threads like these explain why ...

    Squidoo/Blogger as primary website
    Blogger and deleted blogs?
    Blogger blog removed
Wow Blogger Deemed All My Hard Work Spam
    Is blogger blogs worthy?
    have blogspot energy?
is Wordpress really a better choice than Blogger in my case?

Nobody mentionned it yet, but for your squeeze page, check out optimizepress. That is of course if you go with wordpress.

Ive been using blogger for about 5 years and have had a couple sites deleted. One was a gambling related site. But other than that I have 2 sites there that make me a regular monthly income, all by seo. They do much better than my wordpress sites. I find blogger very easy to use and flexible. The learning curve with wordpress is tough for me - a tech challenged old guy. I also use squidoo with some success. Might look at weebly pro and tumblr also seems quite popular.

What differentiates Tumblr from the other options mentioned on this thread is that Tumblr has a social aspect which allows you to get traffic from "followers", as well as some other benefits.
