Created Social Network (need feedback/ or advice)

I just created a social network. I spent time coding, and tried to create something that was like Facebook (in terms of style) but also like myspace (in terms of music/videos/etc.)

here is the website Project Casting - The Talent Social Network -

It is to follow from my already popular website Project Casting - Free Auditions, Free Casting Calls & More! that has near 2,000 email subscribers, 3k facebook likes, and 14k twitter followers.

Thanks for the feedback.

feel free to ask any questions on how i did it, if you would like.

I'd be careful going with a Myspace design. They went WAY too overboard with their ads and their music and became less and less about social networking.

It sounds like you have some targeted followers now the next step is to get them to your social network and implement a system that recommends them to recommend their friends to join. That's how these things become so large, they recruit people from other people. The videos and articles are a great start to keep people interested and to provide information. Hell, maybe the content alone will keep people coming back but what really made Facebook popular in the first place was the widespread initial launch.

It sure as hell wasn't because of all the awesome coding work he did because despite what the movie has you believe, Facebook is constantly full of glitches and bugs. They constantly push out updates that are nowhere near ready and they hire sub-par programmers just to get it done. "Hack" as they call it or to break it on purpose just to get a feature out there so that they can start working on the next one.

Don't go overboard like Myspace did and try to keep that minimalism vibe that Facebook has going for it. I like your site overall so far, but I probably won't utilize it because I'm definitely not an actor or "pretty" enough to be sought after for the big screen. I've tried singing before but I was too drunk to remember it so I'm going to play it safe and say no to that.

Cool, social networks can be hard to get rolling, pretty good niche.

I would just keep scaling things up. Whatever you are doing for traffic, try to increase it because it seem to be working.
