Default Link from a PDF document to website

Hi guys,

I have just created a PDF document (converted to PDF via word) with a few affiliate links in there. So for example, I might have the words "click here for a great new method of washing your hair" and this would then take my customer to an affiliate website.

This works great on the word document. However, when I convert it to PDF, the cursor does not change when I hover over the link. When I click on the link in PDF, nothing happens!! The cursor remains the same whether on top of the link or not.

I think this happened before as well, and I just needed to change something in the settings I think. At the moment there is no point in putting this PDF in my autoresponder as my customers wouldn't be directed anywhere if they clicked on the link.

I'm sure this is something very basic, and I would really appreciate some guidance!

Can anyone help????!!!!!!

Use Open Office. It's free and works great.
Open your word doc in open office and then export it as a pdf and the link will work.

OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite

Great answer from Jim.

I have found the some software that creates PDF files will make the links clickable and some won't.

On a separate note, I'd suggest you don't link directly to the affiliate site. Link to a script on your site that redirects to the affiliate site. That way, if the affiliate link changes or if you want to promote a different product, you can do it by making the change at your end.

Once the book is out there - you can't get it back!

Cheers,

Neil
