Just moved my site to Wordpress: quick question

I just moved one of my niche sites to Wordpress (it was previous scripted in php), and I'm wondering if I should back-date my posts, or if it's fine to leave them as all posting for today.

I don't know if I'd get more google love if they're backdated or not...the content is Evergreen, so actually dates don't matter. This is purely from a SEO point of view.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

    Sure, you can do it.

Click the "Edit" link behind the published date (above the "Update" button), then a small date modification form will appear, and you can modify the date there.

Yea but still the content is still the main thing.

I'm pretty certain that Google knows the origins and dates of posted content, as it will still count with the site migration.

Like dengkane was saying, editing the dates might not be a bad idea if you're wanting to be certain.

Editing the dates wouldn't change much in Google's eyes. They know at which time their spiders first saw the content and where they first saw it. You may want to do it for visitors to the site so they don't think you just uploaded a whole heap of content on one day but I wouldn't really do it for the search engines. Anything that can be easily manipulated by people (such as changing the date of a post) is never going to be something Google give any significance to.

    Thanks!

I removed the "posted" dates since my articles are Evergreen, so all I was really wondering about was through the eyes of Google.

You all cleared that up for me...much appreciated!

First, how many post are you talking about??? 20 or 1000? If it is just a few I would change the date... Good luck...

Nice idea. Make sure that your content must be yours and should be distinct from others.
